NOP - LAL

LAKERS TRADE
D'Angelo Russell , Gabe Vincent , Dalton Knecht , 2029 1st round pick

Lakers get a two way PG Murray as they were pursuing him hard last year. Murray doesn't seem to fit with NOP at the moment so maybe NOP willing to let him go. Lakers lose Knecht and 1st round, but might be worth it for Murray

PELICANS TRADE:
Dejounte Murray , Karlo Matkovic(filler) , Antonio Reeves (filler)

Pels get off Murray contract and get young stud at SG in Knecht and a future 1st pick. They also get 2 new PG in DLO and Gabe hoping the mesh would be better than Murray.

DLO/Gabe
Knecht/CJ
Trey/BI
Herb/zion

Murray has not looked good as a Pelican. Lakers probably want to see more from him to get a feel for where he's at.

For now though I think OP trade is close.

Lakers get Murray, Theis

Pels get DLo, Vincent, Knecht, LAL29FRP(top 6 protected)

I could see both teams doing it. It doesn't solve the Lakers needs though.

Knecht seems wasted on the Pelicans with all the young wings they already have.

I think it still calls for a swap or two. Maybe just the 2026, but I’d say 2026 and 2028

And LAL should want different filler, but maybe there is some value in the duo the OP asked for because of age or contract, maybe ceiling?... Theis seems like a better target or JRE..

Unless NOP is keeping Zion and Ingram, they should be willing to give Dalton a chance as there is no core at that point. And if they are keeping Zion and Ingram, they should take Dalton as flip him later. Or flip one of Herb and Trey.
