Clippers/Jazz simpler version

Tucker/Bones

for

Clarkson

Clippers hope Clarkson helps their bench offense.
Utah clears his extra year to have more flexibility for Ainge to sell against next season.

I kinda think Utah owes LAC a 2nd or two here, but I don't think Utah would or should pay it nor do I think the Clippers would insist on it. They take the on court bump as their incentive for taking on the money.

feel like if clippers are taking on extra money next year tehy should look for a cheaper contract than clarkson to duck the tax

If Utah does owe anything here, could make it simple and just have the 2030 second swap be relinquished OR the Clippers get the swap.

Personally, wouldn't be a fan of the move but don't hate it either. Think Tucker's expiring should be used to shore up the backup 4/5 OR try to get a second or two to take on an exactly useless player that's on a two year deal

Then they’ll have to add more incentive. Few teams are taking on PJ and not cutting him and Bones isn’t exactly a get

This is fine. May need a 2nd or two from Utah to balance. Clippers could include Kobe Brown to move off more money if they wanted.

Clarkson doesn't have value on his contract. I love him, he's been a really fun guy to have on the team, but he is inefficient and age is catching up. He's still effective in bursts, though.

I like it, solid trade. Even with one SRP heading to the Clips.

Agreed on all counts. If he was playing 15-18 minutes as a sparkplug off the bench, he'd likely be more effective in that role.
