I’ll offer this idea for Clippers to add to frontcourt while Wizards start cashing out assets for picks

To Washington (waive Baldwin)
-Terrence Mann
-PJ Tucker
-Future protected 1st

To Los Angeles
-Kyle Kuzma

Why?
-Clippers upgrade frontcourt as they look to move into top 6 of conference.

-Wizards starts selling off assets/gain more cap flexibility

I wouldn't part with a FRP for Kuzma if I were the Clippers, given their limited assets and Kuzma's performance.

I have this trade as fair value without any draft capital involved and the Clippers maybe declining anyway.

Clippers should definitely do it without the pick. I wouldn't add in the pick though.

Agree with others that Kuzma won’t get you a first.

I don't think the Clippers should do it without the pick, even.

Mann is more valuable than Kuz. Clippers should not have to give up him and a pick for Kuz, let alone both

A) assumed the competitive trade market is for Kuzma
B ) Terrence Mann is having a down year based on his TS% for starters. His stock has declined
C) The hypothetical pick would be pushed out to 2031 lottery protected in my mind so little value

Yeah, there is absolutely no way Clippers (or any team imo) gives up a high variable first for Kuzma of all people. Even without the pick, I take my chances on T bouncing back than Kuzma bouncing back.

We can talk about T having a down year, but as is Kyle, shooting a putrid 42%. More turnovers than Ast+Stl combined, 28% from three.

I guess I'd question whether A is a fair assumption. Next deadline will be third time Kuzma has been available in 12 months with each public report suggesting the Wizards have lowered their asking price.

Mann can't be traded until next season

The problem with a protected '31 pick is that it has little value to the Wizards, but damages the Clippers because they lose the flexibility of trading that pick (or a '30 or '32 pick) in another move 3-4 years from now. I don't give up that flexibility if I'm the Clippers.

I'd rather wait until the offseason and trade OKC's '25 pick during the draft. Not like the Clippers are serious contenders with Kuzma anyway.

Lol... Kuzma, for all his faults, has been one of the most consistent players in the league for the better part of a decade. His per game stats, shooting splits, and advanced stats are almost identical across the last 3 years and 200 games with the wizards...
But you seem to think a 12-game sample size (Not even 12 straight games) is a better indicator of the player he is?

I was today years old when I learned that 17 and 22 are almost identical. Though, he has constantly been a meh 33% or so shooter from range.

I was also today years old that having a down year only applies to T and not Kuzma.
