Would the Wolves make him available for transfers? If so, what kind of value do you think he has? What offers would make sense? Let us see your ideas.

Think a lot gets made for a team that’s currently 500 and has a 23 year old superstar locked up for 5 years.
If you’re trading a high impact/salary player, I think it goes first Randle obviously. then Rudy if you can get good value and commit to Randle/Ant… Then consider trading Jaden. Don’t agree trading the younger one who is locked up with Ant

McDaniels had a horrible start to the season, but fortunately, the cerebral Jaden has it it all figured out now.

Ok, to be more serious, the Wolves future is probably Ant, Jaden and Naz Reid. The Wolves have more talented players, particularly Gobert, but those three are young, love each other, and (very important to MIN), all want to be in Minnesota. A few people pointed out that Ant signed a full five year extension, without the typical player option on the final year. Very few realize Jaden did the same thing. Naz took less to stay, and will likely be re-signed this summer, possibly with some of Julius Randle’s money.
Jaden isn’t some superstar, but he is very much a “worth more to us than you,” kind of guy, so he’s unlikely to be traded.

I don't think he has much value.
He's paid as a 3rd or 4th best player on a team.
I'm not sure he is that but he could become that.
I think he's worth less than CamJ. I'd probably say expirings and unprotected swap.

That might be a good fit assuming SAC wants to try to make it work instead of blowing it up.

I would imagine McDaniels costs more than a Cam Johnson. McDaniels is truly an elite defender, and can be hidden on offense well, and maybe fit in to the right roster that makes things easy for him. Cam is good at a lot of things, but not elite at anything. I just think teams will pay more for an elite something, as we saw with Gobert.
If McDaniels is that cheap, I’d want the Pacers to make that swap, easily.

I'm also of the opinion that on his contract ita probably pretty neutral given that he doesn't offer much on offense. I'm thinking expiring + 2 protected picks as about the right amount, but that doesn't make sense for Minnesota unless they have something else lined up.

Well Gobert is exceptionally impactful on defense. I don't have McDaniels in that ballpark, he's not better than Caruso for example.

Jaden McDaniels has a lot of Mikal Bridges break out potential offensively. He probably sacrifices the most on that end than any Wolf and if put in the right situation he could really thrive. A lot of the contract value is probably acknowledging that. His 3pt shooting may not be there but there’s more than enough flashes of everything else to be very intrigued.
If he was traded, I think it’d be closer to OG value than some may think.

I think he’s better than Caruso based on his size and length with added positional versatility. But eye of the beholder and need and whatnot?
But yeah, he’s not Gobert, and I certainly hope you didn’t think I’d say that. Just that guys that are elite defensively will generally go for more in value than guys that are good in a couple areas.

Mikal bridges breakout lasted half a season only..

He’s very valuable; a starter and a late/conditional 1st is a fair starting asking price.
There are more teams that have a number 1 offensive option, than teams that can say they have a guy that they can put on the other teams number 1 option every night so you don’t have to double. Kind of like a shutdown corner.
I think of him like guys like KCP, Caruso, Dillon Brooks. But he’s only 23. His contract is about on par for his role, stats aside.

How many doesn’t offer much on offense have multiple 20+ point playoff games? He also has the best floater game on the team this year. The misconception with McDaniels is that his offense is not reliable. The reality seems to be (not gonna pretend there isn’t some variability,) that Jaden is being misused. He should never be parked in the corner. He is around 7 feet tall, shoots from a high release point, is capable of offensive rebounding, has a shooters touch from anywhere in the paint (or just outside,) and is a confidence player. Jaden will very likely be a 15-20 PPG player once he gets a coach who knows how to scheme an offense and a PG who can actually run it (no offense to Mike, but he has hit the age wall and had the ball taken out of his hands.) Jaden wouldn’t be available, and if he was, it would be for a lot more than was suggested above.

I'd love for the Jazz to pursue him, but I don't know that there's a match there in terms of salaries and assets.

Ant and Jaden came from the same draft class. They are very close. I honestly doubt the Wolves move him for anything less than a massive overpay. I also doubt Utah or any other rebuilding team wants to make that overpay.

He’s been getting less efficient over the last three years, going from 61% TS to 57% last year to 52% this year.
I would want to see some growth there and not regression to treat his offense like it has breakout potential. And while he’s an elite defender with good physical tools, he still has some growing to do mentally.

Ask yourself what changed in those years. 22/23 KAT was out and Jaden got more opportunities. 23/24 KAT is healthy most of the year, Mike, Rudy, Naz, NAW all get a lot of touches on offense, and Jaden is the last one to eat. This year iso ball/hero ball is the norm. Jaden is a confidence and rhythm player who isn’t being properly utilized on offense, and being stuck on the opponents best guard might also be improper utilization on defense.
