Too much unwanted salary and not enough assets here.

Re: Another Lakers and Nets
So none of the pieces in that Brooklyn package hold all that much value. But if they parted them out separately they could get roughly this value only without having to take back ugly contracts.
What your offer does have going for it that Brooklyn can't get elsewhere for players of this level is high upside variance assets.
So if it were me I would jump all over this as Brooklyn rather than trade those 4 players for 3 lotto protected firsts and 3 2nds or whatever their combined value is. Because I want high upside plays when I am a franchise with nothing resembling a franchise player in house or on the horizon. Nothing else actually matters without that.
LA shouldn't consider this. These guys don't move the needle enough to give up those unprotected picks. Odd that I feel LA wins on value, but that Brooklyn is the team that should race to call this in.
But unprotected 1sts post Lebron/AD from a team with this governor? Oh yeah I want those picks badly.

Re: Another Lakers and Nets
This is a lot of bad money that the Nets are javing to take on, all while giving up some of their better trade pieces. They would be better off parting it out dor likely more value. This feels like taking your stuff to the pawn shop rather than selling it a company.

Re: Another Lakers and Nets
I kind of look at it like this...
Trade #1: Christie/Vandy/one of those picks for Cam Johnson. This pick is worth more than Cam Johnson, BRK makes up some of the value gap by taking on the extra year of contract that Christie/Vandy have over Cam. And I think Christie/Vandy are both rotation-worthy players that BRK can get some utility out of and potentially trade for marginal returns down the line as their contracts get closer to expiry. I still have BRK winning this trade because picks that far out are, IMO, better trade returns than good rotation pieces (but no more) like Cam.
Trade #2: Vincent/one of those picks for DFS. Again, the pick is worth more than the player BRK is sending out and they make up for it some degree by taking on an extra year of contract. I still have BRK winning this swap though because I think getting unprotected picks that far out is more valuable than solid rotation players like DFS.
Trade #3: Rui/Lewis for Johnson/Sharpe. This is the deal LAL wins to make up for some of the value from above. I think Rui is a positive player though who BRK will be able to feature and move out for a moderate return by next year. Not a big fan of Johnson, but acknowledge the value in his game which is where BRK wins.
All in all, I like this for BRK a lot actually. I think getting the high variance picks back is worth more than what they'll do with individual trades and financial flexibility. That probably just turns into a collection of late 1sts/2nd rounders and a clogged roster. The strategy of spamming your asset chest with individually low value pieces doesn't usually work.

I’ll do it for the lakers.
Not sure nets get more than two unprotected picks for the collection else where

Re: Another Lakers and Nets
9 player 2 team deals are very rare and unlikely. I don't get why so many board proposals always have Team A trading a large number of valuable pieces to the same team for a equally large pile of unwanted pieces and a couple of picks.
If something between the Nets and Lakers happens, the player portion is likely something like CamJ+Sharpe for DLo+Vincent or DFS+Sharpe for DLo+cheap filler.

The Nets would have to be held over a ledge to ever consider giving up half of this for this horrible return.

The pick is not worth as much as Cam Johnson.
If you want to add assets to your team in a trade you need to send out equal value.
Stop trying to take things without paying for them.

I honestly do not see the Nets parting with Kobe Jr. now.
