A simple superstar swap Fox for LaMelo?

Sacramento trades a disgruntled Fox and gets Melo in return who's back on the West Coast in his comfort zone.

Charlotte isn't winning with Melo why not try a different PG. Fox brings a similar style just more under control.

Who says no?

If LaMelo can't get it done with this team, neither will Fox or any other PG this side of Luka Doncic

The rest of the team will still suck after this

If CLT decides to trade Ball, it should be for players younger than Miller. And maybe that works in a three team deal that ends with Ball in Sac today.

They should not trade Bl and should try to build a roster this offseason. But yeah. I would pass on getting older and less team control.

I just don't see Fox extending in Charlotte and I don't see the Hornets giving up Ball unless he does.

Teams rarely trade same position guys who are both top guys on their teams. Why bother

Yeah, Fox is a massive flight risk. Charlotte can't possibly entertain this without an extension guarantee.

Yea need to find a 3 way trade.

Ball to Kings
Fox to team that want win now
Very highly rated PG from win now team goes to Charlotte.

Edit -
Houston / Spurs are most likely in a package build around Reed Sheppard / Rob dillingham.

But both haven’t really been given minutes to show much sparks to excite Charlotte.

There was once a trade that did just this, and it involved the Kings and Grizzlies.
Mike Bibby for Jason Williams

Sometimes it’s the shakeup. Different personalities, strengths, styles. These two are totally different.
I think Fox is better than LaMelo in multiple ways, but LaMelo is probably easier to build around.

Jason Williams for Mike Bibby? Seemed to work well for both teams then.

I like this idea, although it is unlikely in real life. Both teams would want sweetener from the other IMO.

If you read the tea leaves Fox makes no sense for Charlotte who are opting to play numbers driven basketball, no midrange. All threes and at the rim. LaMelo is a glove fit for that style while Fox is more of a non-shooter.

Based on the fact Fox is leaning towards wanting out, I think Charlotte would be owed more. That is before you consider LaMelo is more valuable via contract/age.

Sacramento would probably do this deal tho considering all of that.
