I’ll offer this idea for Miami to add to its backcourt and for Brooklyn to maximize pick acquisition
To Miami
-D’Angelo Russell (1 year, $18.7 million)
To Brooklyn
-Duncan Robinson (1 year, $19.4 million plus $9.88 guaranteed)
-2026 Lakers 2nd
-2032 Heat 2nd (right to swap with Indiana)
Why?
Miami adds Russell as to upgrade backcourt with Herro
Brooklyn adds more 2nds for taking on more money in Robinson beyond this season.

Is MIA tanking and just looking for expiring salary? Herro, Russell, Rozier might be the most mismatched backcourt ever...Herro needs a defensive-minded backcourt mate, not someone just competing for touches. KCP would be great, Suggs would be insane...but ORL does NOT want to face either of them 4x.

I see no reason for MIA to do this now. There project to be a solid number of teams with cap space this offseason. I think MIA will be able to move Drob on an expiring deal this offseason with these seconds attached if they feel the need to. There's no need to do it now because depending on how the Jimmy Butler situation goes, there could be no need at all for MIA to waste assets dumping salary like this.
I think MIA chipping in more assets to dump the extra year of Rozier vs. Drob's partial guarantee makes more sense. But not sure there's a match there in the value BRK would need and what MIA would pay.

Well the other side of the coin in value is if the Heat want to upgrade their backcourt in conjunction with giving their developing wings more time on floor. Rozier has been a disappointment and Heat have limited options to upgrade plus create greater off-season cap flexibility. I suspect having given up a 1st for Rozier they want to be very conservative giving up 1sts unless it’s for a legitimate star

Yeah, I could see the Rozier idea.. Even if you make Miami take on a 8-9 million dollar player to balance the numbers a bit, sending out Richardson or so..
But I don’t see the third team really.
Don’t see the OP for Miami at all though, Dunc plays a pretty important role. If they had guys able to do it, Dunc wouldn’t play as much.
