Doesn't work. Neither team can take back more in salary than they send out.

The trade is off by a little under $1.3MM for Denver and they are hard-capped, so filling the additional roster spots would be funky (even with a third team taking back another Denver player to make it trade legal). That aside, this just isn't nearly enough value. I feel like Zeke Nnaji and the 2023 First Round Draft Pick functionally cancel each other out, but regardless, Kevin Durant is worth more than this. We are talking about an All-NBA caliber player with 1.5 years left on their contract who is averaging 27.7 PPG on 62.6 TS% this season.

This is not anywhere close to what it would take to get KD

Legality aside, this is a slap on the face for the Suns. Here, take a pick 7 years out so that you can rebuild

Off by at least a 2nd rounder

That would be executing the well-prepared suicide for the Suns.

I’d rather take back a worse contract and get assets. Like KD for George and McCain/picks.
