Lakers get Brown, Richards
Lakers give Rui, Vincent, LAL25SRP, LAC25SRP
Hornets give Richards, Salaun
Hornets get Poeltl
Raptors get Salaun, Rui, Vincent, LAL25SRP, LAC25SRP
Raptors give Poeltl, Brown
Lakers have had an eye on Brown and Richards over the passed couple seasons and finally bring them in when the fit is most needed. The rare trade here where Lakers give the exact same salary as they get.
Hornets decide that Williams isn't reliable enough to start at C, they need to boost roster and choose Poeltl, a player they looked to trade for a couple years ago from Spurs. Hornets don't have their FRP to give but they have Salaun, a player Raptors were expected to draft.
Raptors continue their rebuild. They get Salaun as the main prize, a player they expected to draft. They also get Rui who is still on the younger side (one year older than Quickley). These 2 forwards provide depth in an area of need for the Raptors.
Vincent comes with a couple SRPs to offset the salary. Raps could organise a $15m TPE from this trade.

Raptors cut out lakers if they actually like salaun. Why would we want to take on rui and vincent for brown? We can just as easily sell richards for 2nds elsewhere
I dont like salaun so i wouldnt even do hornets portion of OP

Mark Williams is a good starting center if he stays healthy. I don't think they pull the plug on that idea this early.

Well this is effectively 2 trades happening together to get a larger TPE to the Raps.
This is the isolated deal with Lakers and Raps once Raps get Richards from Hornets.
Rui+Vincent+2xSRPs for Brown+Richards
Raptors do this to get Rui from Brown. I think that size and off ball scoring is useful to the Raptors.
IQ, RJ, Barnes, Rui, Olynyk
Davion, Dick, Agbaji, Salaun, Boucher

Zero interest in taking on Rui to block minutes of walter and mogbo. The tpe is not of interest to me either since we will be so close to the tax already/can't make use of it
We have a much bigger need for Richards to eat up C minutes of anything after trading poeltl

Btw we can absorb Salaun and Richards into our MLE TPE to make a 20M TPE without lakers involvement

Yeah…do we even know Hornets are open to making a win now move like this?
The premise of Charlotte-Toronto makes sense. Raps would prefer to keep Richards and just cut out LA. A lot cleaner.
Brown/Olynyk to LA can be a separate trade.

I would agree to mostly anything that values Salaun as a positive, so yes.
I don't think we need Poeltl (though he'd be nice insurance for Mark), so move him right along for a pick to a team that needs him

Raps are not creating a massive hole at C for this kind of return.
Yak only gets moved if a capable C is coming back

No need for the Lakers to be involved here from a Raptors perspective. We could take on Tidjane and Richards for Poeltl. Having to eat Rui and Vincent for two picks in the mid 40s would not be appealing.

Would Hornets not want Poeltl as a reliable starting C?

Don't think Poetl has this value or Lakers can unload bad salary this easily

If Hornets are gonna this, it would be smart to cash out on Mark Williams next, and sell high on his potential.
If there’s a lesson from the Pelicans disaster, it’s that you cannot build a team where multiple cornerstones are injury prone.
Several GMs can talk themselves into taking on Williams. The Pacers would def. offer a bounty.

I suppose the Hornets selected Salaun (19 years old) at number 6, because they would like his potential/tools and knowing that he was super raw, ... and a few months later they moved him for a traditional center, which does not fit their timeline and where they already have a good prospect???...Salaun should have much more value...at least for the Hornets

I think the Hornets would do well to add a good center so that they can manage Williams minutes. He keeps getting seriously injured and ruining their season. Maybe not right now as this season is already lost and the upcoming draft is strong, but definitely next summer.

Not really sure Toronto wants the op's deal with LA for all tyre reasons mention plus Gabe Vincent is awful he had a good playoffs with Miami and fizzled into a overpaid JAG. Paying him $11.5 million next year is awful. I could stomach Rui here but he blocks Gradey, Walter and Mobgo minutes and two mid seconds aren't enough compensation.
I don't know too much about Salaun he seemed like a bit of a reach but lasts years draft wasn't great either. I just don't know if Toronto wants a project tweener forward
