Some "possible" trades for Butler

Post#1 » by SlimShady83 » Fri Jan 3, 2025 6:39 pm

All these trades work on Spotrac and I'm unsure about including pics
or whether teams fit need etc etc

Note: I went through ON spotrac and found only a few possible teams that can trade for Butler and
get the salary to match while staying under the 2nd apron and I think Heat going to have a hard time trading for Butler
with out including a FRP or SRP's to keep other teams happy - his contract Is $48 mil ish.

Trade 1. Bulls/Heat

Bulls In: Butler and 1 FRP
Bulls Out: Lonzo/Vuc

Heat IN: Lonzo, Vuc
Heat Out: Butler 1 frp

Get something for Lonzo and Vuc risk It with Butler/Lavine combo, Bulls need a Center
again don't see It happening trading Vuc, but who knows

Trade 2. Heat/Blazers

Heat Out: Butler 1 FRP
Heat In: Grant - RW3, Matisse OR Scoot with Grant and Heat can choose on which of the 3 they want.

Blazers In: Butler 1frp
Blazers Out: Grant OR one of three RW3 Matisse OR Scoot.

Trade 3. Heat/Grizzlies - I don't see Grizzlies doing this

Heat Out: Butler 1 FRP
Heat In: Bane, B.Clarke

Mem Out: Bane, B.Clarke
Mem In: Butler 1 FRP

Trade 4. Heat/Was -

Heat Out: Butler 1 FRP
Heat In: Jonas, Poole

Was Out: Jonas, Poole
Was In: Buter 1 FRP

Honestly It's going to be tough for Heat to pull off a Butler trade by the deadline.

Miami isn't including a first round pick unless they get a star player in return. Not a single trade here is acceptable for Miami

Yes, he's paid like a star. That's what they get. We're not paying to move him, and especially not for these returns. Some of these, I wouldn't do without being paid picks. Jordan Poole? Really?

It was just to get the salary's to match LOL. But that's fair, will be tough to trade Butler, should be Interesting.

Miami will definitely not have to add a 1st.

The idea that Miami thinks they're not taking any bad money back is the part that may not be tenable.

We'll take bad money for next year, but not beyond, and we're going to get paid for that.

Value aside, POR has no business trading for Butler. The time for that was 5 years ago.

Thought you guys want to get rid of Grant? I guess not at the expense of Butler's contract  It's going to be really, really hard for a Butler trade, might have to wait for the offseason for one to happen?

Would be great to move Grant, Ayton and Simons; expensive vets with no leadership skills and no future with the team.

Don’t think this is the deal that moves Grant.

You realize it's because they don't have the infrastructure to support Jimmy, right?

Tall order, but not impossible I suppose? You have any preliminary trade ideas?

Maybe so, but Jimmy said anywhere and he wants out, sooo going with It. All good though. Like I said It's going to be tough to trade Jimmy.

Miami is not shipping a pick to do a favor to trade Butler.

Have to be creative with money:
Dallas gets butler
Miami gets pj, Ingram
NO gets Gafford, Powell, klay, Dallas 2025 first top 8 protected.
Miami might actually perform better this year. Dallas adds another piece for playoffs. NO gets a first.

Looks like Butler is sticking around in Miaminif those are the terms. Too much money for a dude that is on the wrong side of good.

If the Magic trade 2 firsts, a starter, and all our bench depth for Butler, the whole front office should be fired and never have an NBA job again.

That's too much to ask? Bad short contracts and some assets?

He's also not on the wing side of good. He's still very good.

Feel like you might just sub Powell for Maxi and take Ingram to Dallas. (Dallas fans never like that when I suggest it).. lower ceiling, but the ceiling is the same age as Luka at least. And you keep PJ in Dallas..
