Alec Burks
Keshad Johnson
Heat get:
Jonathan Kuminga
Brandin Podziemski
Andrew Wiggins
Kyle Anderson
Gary Payton II
Heat add some high upside young pieces for their retool in Kuminga and Podziemski.
Warriors make one last run for it by adding Butler to Steph.

I don’t like this for the Warriors. They’re simultaneously giving up depth and future.

Kinda torn. On the one hand the Wiggins contract is bad enough it might need extra compensation. On the other, Podz and Kumgina are the best trade pieces GSW has. I still think maybe a protected first needs to be added for Wiggins but that probably balances it. I wonder if it is maybe too many players into Miami? There rotation will be over full and egos might complicate things. Maybe get a 3rd team involved to take some existing Heat players or GSW players who wouldn’t necessarily find a spot on the Heat rotation. Just a thought.

Wiggins’ contract is not bad. He’s bounced back from a down year last year and it playing well

The inconsistency plus the potential for that switch to flip and him to suck again is why the contract is bad. Plus Wiggins has mental health issues and as we have seen with Love, Rubio, Simmons, and more, that can be as bad or worse than physical issues.

Re: Jimmy Butler to the Warriors
Keshad Johnson signed after November 6th and cannot be traded this season as far as I can tell. The Warriors are hard capped at the first apron and only have 330,409 $ in space per Spotrac. It is hard to get back to 14 players under the 1st apron for the Warriors. Any deal now almost have to include Wiggins and 4 out of 5 of Kuminga, Anderson, Payton II, Looney or Hield. And probably involve a third team as well.
It is a bit unfortunate for the Warriors that this rumbling happens now as Schröder is allowed to be traded only on the trade deadline or the day prior. Which is still a month away. But conceptually if the parties can wait I see something like the below as the most likely scenario:
GSW in: Butler, Love, Burks
MIA in: Wiggins, Schröder, Payton II, Kuminga, 2025 GSW 1st
3rd team in: Josh Richardson, 2nd from GSW.
Warriors get a solid 9-11 man rotation that should be competitive
C: Looney, Jackson-Davis, Love
PF: Green, Anderson
SF: Butler, Moody
SG: Hield, Burks
PG: Curry, Podziemski
Miami gets a first and a young player in Kuminga that could fit in next to Bam and Herro. I think Miami will likely still make the playoff, The lineup below seems pretty balanced.
C: Adebayo, Ware
PF: Kuminga, Highsmith, Jovic
SF: Wiggins, Jaquez Jr.
SG: Herro, Duncan, Larson
PG: Rozier, Schröder
As far as year three of Wiggins is concerned I believe he will be able to be traded away for expiring salary if the off-season if Miami wants to have space in 2026, a Middleton swap comes to mind as a possible idea.

I like this deal. I would do it.

Dealing with the illness of a parent constitutes a mental issue? Because that's what he's been dealing with the past 2 years. He's been a model of consistency his entire time as a warrior outside of that. And this year, he's been even better than his 2022 season. Big 2 way wings for 26M? Not many of those in the league much less ones who are available.

Here's the deal - if we're taking Wiggins and Kuminga we're foregoing our 2026 plans. I don't really want either player so I'd try and loop in other teams to take them and return assets and shorter contracts. The players could be useless and signed through next year. I don't care. It would be about the assets returned.

Rui and Vincent for Wiggs maybe? Not sure how many other assets we’d give up, knowing that you want that cap space

LA would need to add a first. Not 100% sure they would

Re: Jimmy Butler to the Warriors
Kuminga/Schroder/Wiggins for Butler is a two steps back for one forward. 3 key rotation for one (who isn’t going to play every game).
Wiggins/filler expirings/protected first is probably the GS best offer, so I would bet it don’t happen. I’d put Memphis as the favorite.

Doubt Heat would have trouble moving Wiggins for contracts done by 2026 and some draft capital. Cavs, Grizz among others would definitely have interest imo

What mental health issues. He was dealing with his father's illness and death last season.

The challenge is Warriors need to mitigate how much depth they erode and will want to keep Kuminga. Based on that, if they involve Detroit it’s possible to do this to make it work
To Miami (waive Larson)
-Wiggins
-Schroder
-Waters
-Moore
-2028 Warriors 1st
To Golden State
-Butler
-Burks
To Detroit

Can Schroder be aggregated so soon after the Nets trade?

What is the standalone value of each of Wiggins and Kuminga? Which teams would show interest?

That's the real question, isn't it?
Wiggins should attract attention from a contender so I would think some smaller contracts that end this year or next and a real first (it can be protected but it has to convey).
Kuminga is more interesting. It has to be a young team who likes what they see and are willing to pay him.
