Clippers won't do this, they can just get DLO In the off season for nothing.

Dunn/Harden/Powell is going to be the guard trio when rotations tighten up. Then you got Mann, Folger Soldier, Porter and Jordan to spot time.

Not worth giving up seconds for D'Lo in said scenario.

Is Hyland nearly an All-Star player?

Implying D'Lo is.

But hey, if he is, Thomas is a top five scorer and can win a playoff round himself, Johnson can add 15 wins to any team and Sharpe can start on any team...I'm expecting the Nets to finish no worse than 40-8 the rest of the way

DLO is not. But, why would BK do this trade? I do not understand it. They like DLO for now. If not, they let him off the books and have more money for the big fish this off season.

Even if we assume that's true... Does getting him for this year hold no value?

He isn't... yet, here you are asking if a player returning with two seconds is?

Interesting

I don't believe it holds any value. I mean, when the rotation tightens up, who does he play over? Harden? Nah. Norm? Nah. Dunn? A slight, slight possibility, however, Dunn's defense is needed more than the redundancy of D'Lo with Norm and Harden being offensive minded.

They save almost 3 million this season and get 2 2nds. Tucker and Hyland are both also expiring. Why would they NOT do it?

They might go big game hunting and keep DLO on a much more affordable contract as a 6th man.

They get paid to take 2 2nds. If DLo wants to sign there as a 6th man, you sign him in the offseason, and have 2 more assets for free.

How? they don’t add any salary to next season’s payroll. Are the Nets attempting to be good or bad? I’d take the extra seconds

I'm not seeing the fit. DLO, Harden, and Powell are similar archetypes and Harden/Powell are much better than DLO.

Clippers offense in the playoffs will run through Harden, Powell, Zubac, and (hopefully) Kawhi. They need defenders around them.

I'd rather keep the 2nds, DLo is a liability if you want to win.

I am unsure of what BK wants to do. I think if they flip Russell it would be for much more than 2 2nd round picks. They would likely use him in a much bigger move so this would hinder that plan. If not, they might sign him to a much more team friendly contract OR just let him walk if that does not work out this off season.

I do see what you guys are saying. But, I think there are much bigger plans than a small deal like this. Sean usually has something on his mind with 3-4 options and this might be one of them. I think this would be the last resort. Does this make sense?
