Dubs incoming players: Olynyk
Raptors: Moody and Looney
Why for Raptors, adding a young three and D player in Moody, has signed a three year extension, and has played with Barnes in high school.
Why for Dubs, I hate the rumor of adding Vucevic, Olympic is a cheaper option, shorter contact, gets paid less, and is currently shooting 47.8% from three. 47.8% again from three.

Re: Raps-Dubs
I think Toronto probably says no first here. Reasons being are, Moses Moody isn't really head and shoulders better than the backup guards we have currently. I think Walter has done well in his small sample size to be a backup 2/3 he just needs to get those percentages up which will come over time. I think this is a lose/lose deal for both. Kelly isn't great but I just think Toronto would look for salary relief for next year and seconds vs taking on Moodys' remaining years

Looney is betetr all things considering than KO, so not sure why Dubs would do this unless they hate Moody

Re: Raps-Dubs
TBH I don't know how the Warriors value Moody. The front office extended him, which suggests they value him. OTOH Kerr steadfastly refuses to play him and has for basically his entire career, preferring a series of barely replacement level vet min guys (Lindy Waters III being the most recent example).
If Toronto thinks Moody is a hidden gem maybe this interests them. But I wouldn't blame them for assigning no value to Moody either.

Is there a permutation where the Raps can get the ‘25 GSW protected 1st, and send back the ‘25 POR 2nd (~#35 pick) to balance things out?
I think Raps will be looking to get a late 1st.
I also think GSW wants to ideally duck the tax..so they can shed like 6M.
Maybe something moving around Schroder, since he isn’t the ideal fit?

I don't think we send a 1st and a useful player (Schroder/Moody) for Olynyk. Too rich. I doubt we'd include a first period unless it was like top-20 protected and we were getting a high 2nd back.

Yeah that’s exactly what I proposed. Protect the pick like top 18, and get back the Portland 2nd, which should be around #35.
They can use Payton as outgoing too, if salaries work.

I'd be fine with Looney/GP2/top-20 protected 1st for Olynyk and the POR 2nd. Not the sexiest deal but makes us better and doesn't cost much.

This doesn’t leave the Warriors with enough space under the apron to sign the required 14th player. Also, Moody’s contract makes trading him complicated - they have to take back more salary than they send out. So it doesn’t really make sense.
Replace Moody with GP2’s larger expiring, or send Schroder (possibly through a third team). Or just forget it altogether. I’m not convinced that Olynyk is worth the effort. He’s a journeyman for a reason.
