Brooklyn in: Patrick Williams, Josh Giddey, Chris Duarte, and Jevon Carter

Chicago in: Cameron Johnson and Bojan Bogdanovic

Nets:

Get under the tax. Add the 23 year old Williams and the 22 year old Giddey. Williams makes about ~$5 less per season than Johnson and is locked in longer. Nets could still free agent hunt with or without Giddey - if they need the salary they can just not retain him. Or sign a free agent and re-sign the 22 year old Giddey. They'll have options.

*Nets will have to cut a player or two - they have options there.

Bulls:

Add two wings that are better right now in the year 2024. Cam Johnson is pretty much what they hope Williams can be, except he's that right now. Bogdanovic if he gets healthy would be a scorer off the bench on the wing.

I don't get it for Brooklyn. Pat isn't very good, giddey is redundant w Simmons and needs to be paid, Carter and Duarte are negative value, and we know they have 1sts on the table.

Giddey seems like an OK piece but Williams is a negative contract.

Nets aren't doing this for free.

I actually think this isn't terrible for the Nets. But I've thought the Cam Johnson hype has been crazy all year and I'm still a believer there is a good player in Giddey. And the Nets could be the team that benefits from paying him 1/2 of what he will be worth once he figures out the jumper.

And Simmons is irrelevant because he's not a Net next year. I doubt he's a Net one day after the deadline. They should buy him out.

I don't really get why the Bulls are doing it honestly. It's just more doubling down on a team that is going nowhere as constructed.

Which of those two Johnson and Bogo are PF's because you're taking the oh so cheap Bulls starting PF. And granted Giddey is lousy on defense which is why Lonzo Ball finishes games but take a look Williams is the Bulls 1A best defender behind Ball. Tell me about Johnson's offense and then tell me how he's a top defender, you never hear that in all these trades
