Brown to Utah, Clakrson to Chicago

Ill offer this idea for:
-Utah to clear more salary off books this off-season to absorb 3 1st round picks and have flexbility to further add 1sts with cap space
-Toronto gets assets for Brown as they take on a bit of salary short term and long term
-Chicago gets a veteran replacement for Ball as they save money short term

To Utah (Trade Clarkson, Eubanks, 2nds)
-Bruce Brown (1 year, $23 million)

To Toronto (Trade Brown)
-Lonzo Ball (1 year, $21.4 million) - buyout/waive
-Drew Eubanks (2 years, $9.75 million)
-2029 Utah 2nd round pick
-2031 Utah 2nd round pick

To Chicago (Trade Ball)
-Jordan Clarkson (2 years, $28.4 million)
-2030 Utah 2nd round pick

Why?
-Utah clears $19 million off books this summer as they lok to create more flexibility with potential 3 2025 1sts coming in and if they want to use the flexibility to further acquire 1st round picks in summer

Toronto uses open roster spot since waiving Fernando to swap Brown for Ball whom they could subsequently buyout as I dont think his Bird Rights are of value and Eubanks replaces Fernando on a reasonable $4.75 million cap hit for next season as Raps get 2nd round picks. Ball can look to get a buyout, join a team like Clippers for minimum and sign on there for exemption money this summer.

Chicago gets a veteran PG to replace Ball as they look to improve roster without taking on too much money as they save money short term and take on Clarkson cap hit for 2025-26

I wouldn't do this for Utah and I don't think Chicago would either.

There's no reason to give up 3 seconds to get rid of Clarkson..... He's expiring after next season.....

My understanding is that Ball is playing pretty well. I don't think the Bulls swap him for Clarkson, who is still owed money next season for a second.

Again, if the Jazz want to create more cap space this summer, saving $19 million is worth 3 distant seconds.

I am also not sure it makes sense for the Jazz or the Bulls.

However if these was interested in the original deal for the Bulls or the Jazz, then I think Toronto would get cut out of the deal as a pure Clarkson for Ball swap works salary wise. Ball or Brown is the same for Utah if they plan to keep neither, so no reason to give up 2 extra picks to Toronto imo.

No way they Bulls think a 2030 SRP is worth taking on Clarkson for 2 years. You've obviously not watch a Bulls game to see what Lonzo Ball is doing. He's not hobbling up and down the court as a $21M contract. There's not even a money reason for the Bulls to just swap guards when they have too many even with Dosunmu injured for the time being.

The player the Bulls need from the Jazz is John Collins and they'd send out Vucevic to get him

I'd pass for the Jazz.

There isn't a ton in free agency to use money on, so we'd just act as a dumping ground for bad money again and probably just get 2nd round picks for it. I think we just keep Jordan. He's loved in the community and on the team. If a team offers something reasonable for him to get to a playoff team then we'd probably pull the trigger.

We don't need the cap space, and Clarkson's expiring contract may be a valuable trading chip next season...... There's zero reasons to give up picks, even second rounders, to get rid of him.....

Utah should do this. But Chicago shouldn't. I definitely think Utah can do better than 3 2nds of value(whether selling space or signing a player) with Clarkson's money this summer.

But not sure why Toronto needs to be here at all sucking out value. Makes the deal more palatable for Chicago if they get all the picks.

I'd do Collins for expirings. I'd try to get 2nds but if push comes to shove he is playing amazing and hurting the tank.

Utah passes. Only sending players in trades to acquire assets. No reason to pay to clear money. That won’t be a necessity for probably 3 more years.

Would have to pay us for that. I'd swap Collins for expiring contracts, don't care who they are, but taking Vooch defeats the point.
