Giddey to Philly?

Just trying something bad. Was going to try a Giddey to Dallas thread; but have done enough of those.. Just reading the room and trying a different team for some reason..
Philly: KJ Martin, Bona, 2026 OKC first
Philly: Giddey, 2025 Sac 2nd
Philly - Philly already seems to be planning on going over the second apron for 2-3 years, so why not disrespect it and match any reasonable offer Giddey gets? Giddey will either be a likely well paid but useful second unit creator or he’ll work on his range and be a core piece and Morey will look brilliant. But they give up very little to find out? Their young guards are good shooters, their old star is a good shooter, and Giddey is a better shooter than the tall guard Joel used to work off of..
Chicago - They have gotten to see Giddey’s flaws and decide to move on instead of betting on him developing once he’s paid. They haven’t moved off of their old money and shouldn’t be signing up to second contracts before they even rebuild. And they get a first for Josh Giddey. The 2nd can be seen as making it work or for Bona, a rookie big man prospect.

As a Bulls' fan-yes please
Giddy is not a bad player and I really think he has a role to lead a 2nd unit. Also, I think his RA contract offers will be low/non-existent
But, his poor D makes him a bad fit for Chicago

Thank you so much for not doing a Giddey to Dallas one

Dont want that guy anywhere near Dallas. Respectfully disagree with the above poster, he is a bad player

I'm going to suggest a couple of teams where I think it would fit best... firstly (my favorite). the WIZARDS are in no hurry, they could use an elite playmaker and passer like Giddey... he is also young to be part of the core and develop together...,
With a center who can stretch the court (Sarr) good 3D prospects to cover him in defense (Coulibali) guard combo good in defense like Carrigton, shooters like Kispert/Poole etc...
Poole/Carrigton/Coulibaly/Giddey/Sarr
+Draft/Kispert/K.George/Bey
Another destination to a lesser extent that I think would be intriguing is the SPURS,...I like the Giddey/Wemby combo...although it could be more complicated to solve the rest of the equation with mediocre shooters like Sochan or Castle being an important part of the team
What would the trade be like? Help me here..but WIZARDS have a ton of SRP and there is surely a trade that makes sense for both of us.

I'd probably do this from CHI perspective

I’m still in on Maxi and the 2025 first for Giddey and the Sac 2nd.
Sorry.

I'm with you more often than not, Jay, but I absolutely disagree here. Dont think Giddey has FRP value whatsoever

The pick is the lure for the Bulls so I'd do it. Trading a guard for the Bulls was no problem, with Lonzo back it's even less of a problem. Martin even if you make a case that he can play, but if you see him as a SF isn't what the Bulls need.. Right now they start Giddey and Lavine so one of them is the SF and all things being equal they'd like to get a PF to slide Williams into that 3 slot. Bona is third string maybe G League with Sonogo ahead of him
barring the next few trades Bulls end up with
Martin
Williams
Vucevic
White
Lavine

The contract is an odd fit; JV works but not someone like Kuzma, Brogdon, or Poole. Maybe something around Bey and a pair of seconds. If you value him highly, then probably Washington isn't the spot as we are still a couple of years away, but if you are trying to free yourself from his contract, he's got talent that the Wiz might take a flier on. How he and Bub Carrington would work together might be a question. Not sure that's enough outside shooting to play together at their talent levels but Bub in particular is young and could develop.

Rather keep Giddey, he's been good when Coby isn't dominating the ball and he's actually running the offense.

For WAS, depends on how much Giddey wants on his next contract, and what CHI wants. For expiring and a 2nd sure. He's similar enough to Kyshawn George to wait and see how Kyshawn develops and not give up too much for Giddey.

Exactly...Giddey is caught in a spot where his role changes with every substitution. He runs the team for a few minutes, then it's over to White and Lavine to do whatever they want. Our offense has looked much better as a team when Giddey has had full control. But at times, that is with the end of bench guys, so it can not result in points.
Billy Donovan is the issue. He benches Giddey whenever there's an issue, especially on defense. But Giddey has been giving better effort on that end than White and Lavine combined.

What does Giddey's second contract look like? If we're talking about anything north of 4-60, zero interest for Philly.

As a Bulls' fan, I said above that Giddy's not a bad player. He is actually trying now on D (usually) but he will never be anything above a "bad" defender-just doesn't have the foot speed
The issue with him is, his 3 ball also looks mediocre, at best. He's a good passer, very good rebounder and can score around the basket
I do this deal because I don't want him to start for us (rather have more D). If we keep him, fine.
I do think, if he stays, we should not offer him anything this summer, and see what kind of deal he gets. My fear with him is that AKME will make some stupid offer, and we're overpaying him for years (already have PWill on that situation).
Honestly, I'd rather keep Giddy and deal White-I think he has more value
