Trade 1

Nurkic for Green + Richards

PHO gets depth while CHA aims for a vet center untill Williams is ready.

Trade 2

Allen for Harris + Joseph + '25 DEN 1st

PHO gets a 1st which they'll use to get Butler, while ORL gets shooting.

Trade 3 - The big one

PHO gets Butler, MIA gets Harris + Hardaway + '25 DEN 1st + '31 PHO 1st swap, DET gets Beal + 3 2nds (via PHO)]

DET gets paid for capspace, MIA gets out of Butler receiving rotation players and pick/pickswap, PHO gets their guy

Jones/Morris
Booker/Green
Butler/Dunn
Durant/Ighodaro
Richards/Plumlee

Change that 31 deal to a real pick and it's done

Trade 1 and 3 are way too good for Phoenix, and this is coming from probably the biggest Josh Green hater there is

Agreed. The Denver first, along with those seconds, should go to Detroit, and the Phoenix first (a real one, not a swap) should go to Miami. Denver has to pay to dump Beal and they have to pay Miami for Butler. The original deal is them skirting out on their obligations...

I can't see ORL sending even a late first to PHX for Allen. Especially if expiring salaries are attached...ORL has big extensions coming up over the next two seasons, so they'll need to be more fiscally responsible, especially with bench players. Allen isn't enough of an offensive change coming in to justify his $17, 18, 19m guaranteed to ORL's bottom line. PHX need look elsewhere for their bailout...would like Tyus, but his contract is so low it won't make a difference to PHX.

IF they do anything this aggressive (they won't) it better be for more of a playmaker who can also shoot.

No from Detroit. Harris and Hardaway are both starters for us on reasonable contracts. Not sure Beal would even want to play for us and he's got a terrible injury history and terrible contract situation.

Yeah. Fundamentally, there's no way around the problem that Phoenix simply doesn't have enough movable assets to dump Beal and acquire Butler no matter how you dress it up.

I'm not sure how you square the circle of turning Beal plus some or all of Allen, Dunn, Oso, and their '31 1st into Butler

Beal for some SRP is absolutely bananas.

The FRP capital should be going to DET for taking on Beal and the SRP instead to MIA.

“ Detroit is not taking beal” fixed it for you.

That is what I was thinking as well. Move the 25 FRP to Detroit. Might even have to move the 31 FRP to Detroit and send the SRP to Miami.

Miami gets value in dumping Butler and that might be all that is needed.

It's not

Because of his no-trade clause, a lot of these Beal trades are swimming upstream against a raging current. Like Detroit seems a highly unlikely destination for Beal to accept. Even if the framework of the trade was acceptable to all teams, Brad just steps in and kills it.

Washington giving Beal the dollars & years he got on that super max contract, was a pretty bad blunder of an overpay. But giving him a no-trade clause was outright insanity, what the heck were they thinking, lol!!

Trade 1 has no shot. Nurkic doesn't have positive trade value.

I've actually been wondering whether Grant Williams is a bad enough contract at this point to do him + Richards for Nurk. His deal goes out even further and he's obviously out for quite a while. Perhaps it's bad enough in a vacuum but not that big a deal for Charlotte specifically. I think Nurk can be fine as a vet backup for a team that can handle the short-term salary. Maybe PHX has to throw in a 2nd :dontknow:

I think something like that is their strategy. Tough needle to thread.

Phoenix is taking on Josh Green’s extra year at $15 million, he’s a minimum player. If we weren’t desperate for a center, Hornets should add 2nds.

Phoenix is not throwing in any picks to take back the extra year of Grant or Green.

I’m fine with the first 2 but no way is Detroit taking on Beal for 2nds if at all. I think Orlando wouldn’t want to just send expirings either. Realistically I can’t see a team taking him on that he’ll agree to. I would do the first 2 & see if you can attach Okogie+ 2nds for a bigger wing & just roll with it until the summer. Okogie + a 2nd for Zaire.
