OKC out: Isaiah Joe, Aaron Wiggins, Nikola Topic, 2025 MIA 1st (lotto prot, unp), 2025 UTA 1st (top 10/8 prot), 2025 PHI 1st (top 6 prot)
OKC in: Tyler Herro, Kevin Love, Alec Burks

Thunder get another scorer who can carry the second unit and a couple of veterans for the roster.

MIA out: Tyler Herro, Kevin Love, Alec Burks
MIA in: Isaiah Joe, Aaron Wiggins, Nikola Topic, 2025 MIA 1st (lotto prot, unp), 2025 UTA 1st (top 10/8 prot), 2025 PHI 1st (top 6 prot)

Heat look to reset around Bam with a ton of space, youth, and more flexibility. Obviously a Jimmy trade also happening in this world.

Think okc is overpaying, so as a Mavs fan I'd love this

Not touching this for Miami. We're not looking to bottom out

Both teams do this IMO, Herro would instantly be the 2nd best off the dribble player on OKC, Miami get 2 year window to rebuild.

Miami doesn't rebuild. We're not trading Herro unless we're improving

They will now after the Butler circus and giving out unprotected 1st for Rozier, and they will trade Herro if it makes sense, not only of they're improving, they aren't stupid.

First of all, no, they aren't stupid. That's why they're not rebuilding. It makes no sense to tear out down to the studs when you've traded away your picks

They are getting their 25 pick in this trade, that's why it makes sense.
Insisting on rolling with this roster will result in rebuild in 1 or 2 years, they will be rebuilding on their terms with this trade.

I think this is enough of an overpay that Miami should take it and figure out the best way to retool around Bam this offseason.

Will have plenty of assets, salary filler..

Could make it a 3 or 4way. OKC overpays for Herro and tries to win titles, Heat get some of the assets and some win now talent.

Maybe Ingram is involved?

OKC - Herro
Heat - Ingram, 2 OKC 1sts
Pels - Joe, Wiggins, Topic

type of thing.

But that's just an example. Could sub in a different win-now guy for Miami who might be on the market like Fox (Miami doesn't get picks, Sacramento gets the 3 OKC 1sts, Topic and maybe Wiggins, and Joe is sent somewhere they need a shooter to finally give Sabonis a decent backup, or Joe goes somewhere to inch Sacto up in the draft or target Denver's 2031 1st with some 2nds added in and Nnaji coming back.

Herro is not an OKC player. Too flawed to give up a bunch of stuff for.

I think Herro would be a terrible player for OKC to trade for. They have this amazing defense and they're just going to give opposing offenses someone to target. It doesn't make an ounce of sense to me. Yes they could use more creation but not at the expense of something else. They can afford to be picky.

I agree that MIA doesn’t tear it down…Herro & Bam and the return for Butler are enough to keep it rolling…some of their supporting cast is still helpful and, in Rozier’s case at least, more valuable on the court than in a trade. MIA is still a premier NBA destination- like it or not.

An expiring Ingram with ideas on a max is not even an asset to me.

Overpay and a bad fit for OKC.

I doubt Pat Riley will move Tyler Herro. If anything, Pat Riley showcases Herro, and will see what direction he takes his career. In the meantime, Pat Riley builds around Bam, and Herro.

OKC has got to figure out an acceptable way to overpay for a player soon because they literally don't have roster spots for all their upcoming draft picks. :dontknow:

I don’t think there’s any urgency on moving draft picks soon just because of roster spots. We can always move up by combining them , trade for a future pick or draft a stash. No urgency there.

Urgency here is getting a right fit player for our movable salary . I like Herro , am ok with the cost in picks but would prefer to keep wiggins if possible.

On the flip side whatever happens with Butler, Miami should be confident of retooling around Bam and Herro.

I would a similar trade package (from OKC) for Fox, not Herro.
