POR/LAL/UTA

UTA in: Jarred Vanderbilt, Jaxson Hayes, Lakers unprotect 2027 FRP, 2025 LAC SRP
POR in: Jordan Clarkson, Rui Hachimura, Gabe Vincent, 2028 unprotected LAL swap, 2029 lightly protected LAL FRP
LAL in: Anfernee Simons, Robert Williams, Toumani Camara
UTA receives draft compensation to take on Vanderbilt's contract.
POR sells some of their vets for some potentially valuable picks. I know they've been keen to trade Simons and one of their centers to open up minutes for their young guys. They also don't take on any bad money as all of these contracts expire after next season.
Lakers send draft capital to compete. Probably a fool's errand but this trade aims to address some of their biggest weaknesses.
I know Camara will be a sticking point for Blazers fans but I'm not sure what his value is. I don't think Simons or Williams net a FRP as good as the Lakers' on their own.

Remove Camara and POR might go for it.

Utah gets Vando, Hayes, unprotect LAL27FRP, LAC25SRP
Utah gives Clarkson
That feels like a very steep price to pay on Vando. I think Utah would do that swap for less

Yeah, Portland is not trying to move Camara, especially not as just wheel grease. I think we see a real player in him. Other teams don't have to value him the same because he isn't being shopped but that can be a tough point to get across on this board some times.

Not convinced the franchise is interested in yet another tiny no defense guard in any case.

Lakers pass easily
Simons is a bad defender and not athletic enough, we just had Dlo in this situation with AR next to him.
Were still probably not good enough to really compete I think and giving up a ton
I do like Rw3 a lot though
We need high upside moves that wont cost a lot of draft capital:
Guys like Lonzo, Rw3, Vuc
BI or Lavine can also work, just big salaries

Not sure about that. The LA pick is not highly protected.

Didn’t Simons win a dunk contest?
Granted his athleticism doesn’t really translate to in game situations but he can get up.

Not athletic enough?
My bad, not physical enough defensively

I would say mentally too but yes.

I mean Portland is getting an unprotected first and an unprotected swap and its not like Simons or Williams are warranting anything close to that. I'd say the OP at least valued him quite highly no? And he even acknowledges in the OP he understands Blazer fans value him highly.
I have LA running away from this deal first though. That's too much to pay for what they get back here.

Lakers can keep the 2025 2nd.

Swap Camara out for any number of other POR bench players (Banton\Walker\Reath\Rupert) and it looks doable for POR IMO..
Would want to know details on LAL 29' pick "light" restrictions

The swap is unprotected but the 2029 first that they received is undefined "lightly" protected.

Remove Camara and Portland should definitely be on board. Though, without him, this is too much for Portland. So, remove Camara and give Portland less incentive.

Agree with all other Blazers fans... Camara may be the last Blazers player traded. Should be an easy swap with Jabari Walker who I believe is an expiring contract.

That's an SRP though, right? And it's been discussed multiple times that unprotecting the LAL 2027 FRP is worth roughly the CLE FRP in this draft. Seems about right for taking on the extra years of Vandy.
