Lakers-Bulls-Blazers
Lakers get Lonzo, Reath
Lakers give Rui, Knecht, Vincent
Bulls get Rui (in to tpe), Knecht, Vincent, $10m TPE
Bulls give Lonzo, Jevon, POR25FRP(1-14)
Blazers get Jevon (in to TPE), POR25FRP(1-14), $2m TPE
Blazers give Reath
Lakers get more playmaking that they need since losing DLo, they also get a backup C. Lakers drop under 1st apron making them ready to take large salary buyout players.
Reaves, Christie, DFS, LeBron, Davis -- Lonzo, Milton, Vando, Wood, Reath -- JHS, Bronny, Reddish, Hayes
Bulls get two wings (Rui and Knecht) that fit their group while moving some of the clutter in their guard rotation.
Giddey, Ayo, LaVine, PatWill, Vuc -- Coby, Knecht, Buz, Rui, Smith -- Vincent, Terry, Duarte, Phillips, Craig
Blazers get their pick back and restore flexibility there, even though it was unlikely to convey more than SRPs.

Re: Lakers-Bulls-Blazers
This would be a no from POR most likely. Swapping Reath ($2.048mil) for Carter ($6.5mil + $6.5mil PO next year) puts POR ($3.72 below) into the luxury tax, which is probably a non-starter, especially for a minor deal like this.
I like the concept of POR getting their 25' 1st back, but I don't see them going into the luxury tax to do so.

Re: Lakers-Bulls-Blazers
Blazers wouldn't have to worry about that until the end of next season, right? I wouldn't think that would be a problem.
In terms of value I like it.

Yes for Portland, and then it seems they have plenty of time to make a cost saving move.

Not so sure...
I think this kicks Portland into the tax. If we can send out Walker in addition - then it would be a yes.
*** EDIT *** Looks like Lakers are dropping salary in this trade, so they should be able to take on Walker to keep Portland out of the tax.
It also appears that Chicago would need to cut someone from the roster to make this legal.

The Blazers would have plenty of time to get out of the Tax as needed.

Re: Lakers-Bulls-Blazers
This seems poor value for the Lakers from where i stand. And that feeling seems to be reinforced by all the Portland fans happily agreeing to the deal (what is it, "37 GLORIOUS years without dealing with the Lakers", something like that?)
Jokes aside, I'd at LEAST try to sub Knecht out for JHS (still young at 21, and would be buried behind Reaves, Ball and Lebron at Lakers anyway.). Doesn't really affect the deal money-wise.

You could but then you need the pick compensation to match

A 2nd or 2? Absolutely! Lebron needs shooters to get the ball to in the playoffs and give him and AD space. Knecht does that. Future 2nds should be of minimal importance compared to competing NOW.
Edit: I guess I also struggle to get my head around Reath being brought in as a "backup centre" at 6'9. Yes, it's worked in the past, small-ball. But I can't imagine it will be pretty, any minutes he has to play vs the bigger centres in the playoffs. JMO...

Re: Lakers-Bulls-Blazers
Feels like Portland give very little to get back their pick.
I feel like they should throw in a 2nd or two to the Lakers.

Absolutely not.
That pick will most likely convey as a SRP.

I agree that's the likely outcome, but it DOES give you back some flexibility for trading picks in the future. And I'm not saying that to get more 2nds for the Lakers. I'd actually try to get a single 2nd for CHI, not Lakers. And after looking at my altered deal (bringing in JHS instead of Knecht), I realised JHS also has a lot of competition for minutes there. So maybe instead of Knecht OR JHS, just change it to Reddish and 2 Lakers 2nds going to Chi with Rui and Vincent. That nets the Bulls 3 2nds, and they can maybe use 1 of those to attach to Torrey Craig heading to Det for a fake 2nd back. I imagine Craig would be more use as a veteran presence for Detroit, who seem to want to shoot for the playoffs, than for the Bulls who seem to be biding their time for now.

That's irrelevant, the Blazers give up nothing of value to get flexibility with their pick.
You have to give to get.

Cool.
POR can work out another deal with CHI and LAL can find another dance partner.
