MIA-MIL-PHX Shake Up

Post#1 » by rambo_ortega » Thu Jan 16, 2025 2:28 pm

I think the whole Butler & Beal saga would just be a shake up instead of completing the most ideal trade for the teams involved because of its complications. So here's 2 trades for my take:

Heat Get:
A. Bradley Beal
A. Heat get a good player in return for Butler while still competing in the eastern conference
Bam/Jovic/Jaquez/Beal/Herro

B. Khris Middleton & Brook Lopez
B. Heat become a more complete team and might even be better overall with this trade with Bam playing PF
Lopez/Bam/Middleton/Herro/Rozier

Bucks Get:
A. Jimmy Butler
A. Bucks will be in Championship mode again with this trade
Portis/Giannis/Prince/Butler/Dame

B. Bradley Beal
B. They get a very good player to pair with Giannis
Portis/Giannis/Prince/Beal/Dame

Suns Get:
A. Khris Middleton & Brook Lopez
A. They get a Center and SF who will really help spread the floor as well as defend on the other side of the ball
Lopez/KD/Middleton/Booker/Jones

B. Jimmy Butler & Alec Burks
B. Butler with KD and Book will be dangerous
Richard/KD/Butler/Booker/Jones

Phoenix should jump at this. Anytime you get off of a terrible contract like Beal's for absolutely nothing, you should do it.

Milwaukee would likely prefer Portis rather than Lopez, but to get Jimmy without giving up draft capital would probably be a win for them.

Also, Milwaukee has to shed salary in order to be able to aggregate salaries, but neither Phoenix nor Miami is in a position to take extra salary. You need a fourth team to eat Pat Conaughton.

Finally, Miami would cut Phoenix out and take Middleton and Brook for themselves, even if they end up flipping Brook, elsewhere. The idea that the Heat would give up Butler while taking one of the worst contracts in the league without compensation is laughable, but for Jimmy?!?! No way. The Heat are owed for taking the contract and upgrading the player.

This needs a lot of work...

I think Jimmy is gonna end up in Milwaukee for that Mil package, and Butler eventually ends up in PHX for Beal later. I remember seeing Beal in an interview say he could’ve went to MIlwaukee before Phx, but he didn’t want to send Middleton to a rebuild in Washington.

Milwaukee might be one of the few teams willing to take on Beals contract, as a way to appease Giannis. Beal also has a good relationship with Dame.

Easy no from the Heat. We didn't want him when he was given away for free. Do not want him now either. Especially with a NTC. Much less only getting Beal and no picks, no other player nothing. Just a straight up, "Just give me Butler because I want him". Why would the Heat do that? Rather keep him until the off season. He either opts out and we get the cap space. or we sign and trade him. Why would we give them Butler and do them the solid of taking their unwanted?

Bucks want no part in Beal - One of the worst contracts out there
