Knicks
S. Curry
2nd round pick
Hornets
Jericho Sims
Gives the Knicks elite shooting off the bench.
43% from 3 in his career. 42 percent this year.
Hornets auditon Jericho to compete with Moussa Diabaté, down C2 Nick Richards.

I was watching the team last night and thought... you know what we need? more 6'3" guys. Shamet, Cam Payne, Kolek? All good, but I want MORE.
The value in that deal is great, and I love the fit of Sims on the Hornets, he might get to catch more lobs and thrive at a faster pace. I just don't see that return as meeting a need.

This should be just a player for player trade. Hornets shouldn’t trade assets to get off that small of a contract

It's tough because the Knicks are operating second apron and shopping a 2.0 million dollar 3rd or 4th big (after KAT, MRob, Achiuwa).
How many players making 2.0 million can be trusted in a playoff rotation with the ball in their hands? And can enter the game in a big moment and hit a shot?
Next rung up on the salary scale and pecking order from Sims is Precious Achiuwa.
And that higher salary spot expands the options for the Knicks to return a player more integrated in their regular rotation. Even that is tight at a 6.0 million limit.
Doesn't net someone like Okogie or Cody Martin.
Sims belongs on a rebuild team, and if he returns even just a 1-trick pony like Seth, it adds value to their team.
Sims and Achiuwa are both contracted on expiring deals.
I would be very interested in Achiuwa in free agency.

i'd rather try out someone younger from the D-League than give up a 2nd for the rights to watch a 26yo Sims suck at basketball

Does he suck more than 39yo Taj Gibson, especially Taj last night? I can't imagine.

A 2-hour game of 1-on-1 between Taj and Sims would likely end as a 0-0 tie....

With LaMelo throwing lobs to both?

Maybe, after about 119 minutes, one of them would actually catch a lob and win the game with a dunk. Maybe.

Would Taj jump above the rim?

Good point. Sims wins 2-0, after 119 minutes of inept offense pitted against barely adequate defense. I guess the Hornets really are getting the better deal here.

How about we send Houston some cash & a SRP or two to trade Jae'Sean Tate to a team that'll buy him out instead?
...please?

This is what championship dreams are made of.

Taj can make open 3's.
Speaking of counter offer:
Sims for Taj and SRP.

Yes of course, but I wouldn't want to infringe upon my clickbait thread title.

Taj has taken, um, two 3's this year--both from the corner--and has made exactly one (1). This is in 16 games (including 8 starts).
Hence, your use of the plural here seems...wrong.
(He's also .266 from 3 over his career. Basically, if you're at the point that you need to add Taj because of his ability to hit open 3's, the season is already lost.)
