Butler to Suns, Beal to Kings: Suns/Kings/Heat/Raptors

Ill offer this idea for Beal to waive his NTC to go to Sacramento
-Butler gets to go to his prefered destination
-Beal waives NTC to go to Sacramento to form backcourt with Fox and Kings get a 1st
-Miami gets a veteran SF to replace Butler along with immediate tax bill relfief and greater off-season flexibility
-Raptors add 3 player for Brown along with a 2nd. They can waive Burks and look to flip Lyles for another 2nd

To Phoenix (Trade Beal, 1st, 2nds)
-Jimmy Butler (1 year, $48.8 plus P.O.)

To Sacramento (Trade DeRozan, Huerter, Lyles)
-Bradley Beal (3 years, $161 million)
-2031 Phoenix 1st round pick (some form of light protection)

To Miami (Trade Butler, Burks)
-DeMar DeRozan (3 years, $74 million)
-Bruce Brown (1 year, $23 million)

To Toronto (Trade Brown, waive Temple)
-Kevin Huerter (2 years, $34.2 million)
-Trey Lyles (1 year, $8 million)
-Alec Burks (1 year, $2 million) *waive*
-2025 Denver 2nd round pick via Phoenix
-2028 Boston 2nd round pick (31-45 protected) via Phoenix

Why?
-Phoenix gets Butler as they re-tool their big 3
-Sacramento gets a legit starting 2 guard as Monk can come off bench and the Kings get back a 1st for money they take on. They acquire Beal to further convince Fox to extend this off-season.
-Miami gets a veteran wing to replace Jimmy and swap expiring Burks for expiring Brown as they cut $4.5 million off salary cap and impact to tax bill and save almost $27 million this off-season between Demar cap hit and Butlers player option.
-Toronto swaps Brown for Huerter and Raps get a Canadian in Lyles if they want to flip him closer to TD. Given money they take on for next year, they get 2 2nd round picks.

We would have no interest in DDRs 3 year contract, if it was 2 then ok, but it screws our plans for 26. He also doesn't shoot the 3, we need someone that does for spacing.

Toronto shouldn't do this they are up against the tax next year and Huerter isn't worth what he's paid. I don't expect any real value coming back for Lyles either your lucky if you could squeeze a second from a team

Phoenix says yes: big win on court this season, save $1.4M plus taxes, get rid of the albatross of Beal's contract, all for a single FRP

Everybody else says no because they are all contributing a little bit of value so that Phoenix can steal it

Well alternaitvely, the Heat could take on Huerter and Lyles while DDR goes to Toronto. If the Heat value flexibility over talent then this could be they way. Just spit balling.....

To Suns (Trade Beal, 1st, 2nds)
-Butler

To Kings (Trade DeRozan, Huerter, Lyles)
-Beal
-Burks
-Larsson
-2031 Suns 1st

To Heat (Trade Butler, Burks, Larsson)
-Brown
-Huerter
-Lyles
-2025 Denver 2nd
-2028 Boston 2nd

To Toronto (Trade Brown)
-DeRozan

Zero percent chance Sac does that. It makes no sense for them.

Derozan has significantly more value than Beal. dot the end.

kings need at least 2 more first rounders to even consider this.

Even if the pick was completely unprotected, Phoenix is not paying nearly enough here to not only get Jimmy Butler but to get rid of Beal.

The 3rd season is not guaranteed IIRC

I don't see any reason for Sacramento to do this deal.

Miami has had interest in DeRozan in the past, so maybe. Bruce Brown checks the "veteran who can help Miami make a playoff run" box, but is a pretty meh acquisition otherwise.

Miami would need some draft capital here, if nothing else getting the option to swap for Phoenix's pick in 2031.

There's nothing here for Miami. The first trade ignores our requirement for no long-term salary. The second just gives us no value at all.

I kinda wonders what this Heat plan is that requires capspace in 26? Heat fans keeps yapping about it but how often does a star sign as FA these days? Most today is snt, so then i would see players with 1 year left at 26 to be the optimal length of contract, unless they plan to salary fill with someone like Bam that make lots of money.

Now, this trade is as someone said pretty bad for everyone except suns, and dont think its even close for kings. But I got a bit stuck on the heat plans

As someone who doesn't think Miami should expect much back for Jimmy at this stage, even I think this is pretty bad for them. DeRozan's contract is exactly what they want to avoid (longer than two years) even if he's still a solid enough player. Don't see the reason for them to do this unless you throw in an actual draft asset(s).

But it's not longer than 2 years. Next year is GTD and final year non GTD.

Toronto shouldn’t be adding any additional salary without (at least) a lottery protected 1st. The two distant 2nds aren’t enough to take on Heurter especially when Barnes and (potentially) RJ receive their extensions next year; we’ll be deep into the luxury tax.

Go ahead and list out the Kings depth chart after this and tell me the Kings would do it.

The Kings absolutely do not do this deal, but let's just show people what you mean. I might be missing someone off the top of my head, but they wouldn't be playing that's for sure.

Fox/Carter/McLaughlin
Monk/Beal/M. Jones/C. Jones
Keon/McDermott
Keegan/J. Crowder/I. Jones
Sabonis/Len

So realistically the Kings would have Keegan and Sabonis to play the 4/5 the entire 48 minutes and Keegan should be playing the 3. There are no real wings to play in their best position, no back ups for said wing and no back ups in the big men department.

It’s 10 million guaranteed. Which is a big enough number that it messes with cap space plans.

I think it’s probably a pretty even split of teams that would just end up keeping him at 26mil versus paying 10 for nothing.. whether they want him or not at that point..

That is fair enough.
I feel like Miami could actually trade a DDR in the off season for savings too.
