I like it for the Kings, but does this put them in the tax?

Yeah, pending what else is out there, I think I'd do it. Really solidifies the 8-man rotation.
PG - Fox - 34, Monk - 14,
SG - Monk - 18, Ellis - 20, Carter - 10
SF - Derozan - 34, Ellis - 9, Murray - 5
PF - Murray - 30 , Collins - 18
C - Sabonis - 35, Collins - 13
Basically can't afford any injuries at all, but I still like it, and unless something better is out there (which I'm not seeing right now), I'd do it.

Nope, just under. Otherwise would have left Mills out and let them play with 14

I'd do it as presented and I've probably posted 10 variations of this deal since the off-season.
Personally though. Vivek can pay the damn tax lol. Lyles has been huge for us during this streak.
Ideally we keep Lyles and add in some of the minimum guys to offset. Some combo of Len, Mclaughlin, Colby, McDerrmott. Vivek can throw in some cash to a 3rd team to take on 1 of these guys.

Needs to be the '29 2nd. The '31 2nd is owned by the Spurs.
Would rather keep Lyles, but there's just no way of acquiring a Collins without his salary. I would do this deal absolutely.
I know Jazz fans have spoken about there being not a chance in hell the Jazz would have Lyles back so he might need to go to a 3rd team.

I'm a believer in Isaac Jones so I'd like to ease him into the rotation during the regular season. He can take some of those front court mins to keep guys fresh.

I mean Utah can buy him out for at least the prorated minimum if they don't want him. Some team is picking him up. Thanks for the heads up on the pick situation.

I would hope we don't have to take back Lyles, we will obviously buy him out after how it ended with him before. If there are no other options this is whatever. The players coming back suck, but the financial incentive and getting worse on the court in the short term is probably good.

Is this true? Or is there no way of acquiring him without including Lyles to keep Vivek from paying the tax?
Collins to Sac
A Len + Cash to Detroit
Huerter, Mcdermott, Mclaughlin to Jazz
Kings give Isaac Jones & Crawford a contract
Kings bring Orlando back for ROS
Sabonis/Collins/Robinson
Keegan/Lyles/Jones
Derozan/Crowder/Crawford
Monk/Keon/Colby
Fox/Carter
3rd strings goes from vet to rookie, and Vivek has to pay the tax, but I think that's legal no?

No I don't mean that in a literal sense, just that I'm not sure the value is there unless Lyles is in there, unless someone like a 3rd team is saving money getting the expirings you listed.

Lyles is an expiring so I'm not sure that matters as much now; previous coaching staff, management, and owners, so I don't know if those folks would care. He might have to deal with getting booed by the fans every time he steps on the court though. Add the 2026 SRP and it's a little easier to swallow.
Great thread title, btw.

Sacramento can't trade the '26 2nd. It's tied to the Atl 1st rounder trade so the earliest would be this off season it can be used if the Kings' pick conveys to the Hawks.
The best the Kings can do is a '25 Chi 2nd that is top 55 protected. LOL.

And I would add, if the Jazz were going to waive Lyles I would prefer to go the route of McLaughlin/McDermott etc and kick in some cash to pay for their buyouts.

First thing that comes to mind is this still leaves the Kings needing to add another big IMO.

I’ve been going back and forth if he’s really worth a mid to late 1st. But his contract makes me lean towards no.
