Kings get Jarace Walker
Pacers get Keegan Murray
I think this fits both squads better. Does anyone need to give compensation?

Kings don't even consider trading Keegan at this stage. It would certainly take a lot more than that

I was a huge fan of Walker when he was coming out. Admittedly, I haven’t seen much of Walker since being drafted, but his stats in both the G League and NBA are impressive thus far.
Based on what I’ve seen from Murray thus far, I’d venture to guess that Walker has a higher ceiling due to him being a better ball handler and passer/playmaker. On top of that, he is 3 years younger than Murray with 1 extra year on his rookie deal.
I feel like some Kings fans will point to the fact that Murray plays a large role on a competitive team (which is fair), but I’d argue Walker just hasn’t had the same opportunity considering Mathurin and Siakam are starting at SF and PF, and he has guys like Nesmith and Toppin who eat up bench minutes at the forward spot as well.

All great stuff if we were say sending an older established player to go is starter quality and getting a pick back with Walker.
Keegan is if nothing else potentially ALL NBA defensive first or second team and as we can see with his confidence and green light on his shot coming back, his offense is rounding into form. Additionally he rebounds well for his size and is obviously working in some new wrinkles to being able to create his own offense. He’s is still a couple years from prime and developing well. And we are ready to compete now.
Not a good move at all dropping back to an”potential” guy for one who actually is still pretty young and has proven his ability as a starter completely out of position since he entered the league as the number four pick in a very good draft.
Again, totally pass on this.

Walker has become a 3 so Murray wouldn't play his minutes. Even if we sent Obi to the Kings, Murray would be behind Siakam. The Pacers may have to move Obi or Nesmith to resign Turner, but this doesn't solve the Turner problem.

I don't see the Kings selling low on Keegan.

Keegan is far more of a natural 3 being miscast as a 4. We usually have him guard the opposing teams best player often time that's a guard. Not sure this idea that he would be behind Siakam. He would be starting at the 3 spot.
All that said, wish the Kings could find a way to get either Obi/Nesmith. Maybe we could tag alone as the 3rd team in a deal that makes sense for Pacers.

If he's a 3, perhaps Nesmith or even Mathurin wouldn't be an unreasonable request.
Edit- on second thought maybe Obi is a possibility and we could move Walker back to the 4..

That wasn't what I was saying. We aren't trading Keegan for any of those guys. We need another Keegan not to get rid of him.

IF....Indy actually does make a trade for Cam Johnson, it essentially HAS to be Obi/Nesmith as the salary matching (they can't make a realistic deal and stay under the tax/hard cap at the 1st apron either other way). Surely you could jump in and get one or both if that happens?
But otherwise, I'd really consider doing something around Obi/Trey Lyles. If Sacramento adds in Colby Jones or Doug McDermott, they'd stay under the tax, while Indy would get far enough under the tax to afford waiving Wiseman to clear a roster spot? Meanwhile, Indy gets some additional cap space for Myles new deal this summer? I'd really consider it.

Nesmith for Lyles and a protected 2026 FRP?
Edit- oops, you've traded your 2025 top 12 protected.

Indy has forced Walker to the three figuring his shooting/passing/movement is good enough to let him be a big three.
He should be a four focused on adding 25 pounds of muscle. Then you have a stud pf that can step out and shoot or take other bigs off the dribble.
I get it, Siakam is there. But, they are hampering Walker’s growth.
Indy needs a smaller quicker three that either shoots lights out and/or D’s up. OG/Infram/Hunter/DD etc.
walker could be perfect pf for Sac, NY, etc - next year if allowed to beef up and work inside game.

Nesmith played 9 minutes last night after missing 35 games. Without him, minutes were available for Walker at the 3. I have no idea how minutes will be distributed going forward.

It is a no from me on Keegan Murray. His numbers and adv metrics have all declined since his rookie season(except rebounding). Just trending in the wrong direction which is a red flag.

I mean everyone thinks their rookie contract player is about to breakout. I guess I should have expected most to dislike the trade.
But objectively I do think it makes sense as I think Murray is a 3 being used as a 4 and Jarace is a 4 being used as a 3.
Both seem as talented as each other and these 2 teams have a history of trading.

I’d rather see things through with Walker. Dude had flashed a bit of everything and doesn’t really have any weaknesses. How good he can become at things remains to be seen, but at the very least, he’s looking like an amazing 3/D guy with playmaking potential.

If you want a 4, make an offer for Obi.

Sac need a defender next to Sabonis
