Because they can, OKC buys luxury Jazz

Kenrich
Dieng
Topic
25 PHI 1st (top 6, top 4, top 4, 27 PHI 2nd) -- currently 8
25 UTH 1st (top 10, top 8, nothing) returned
for
Sexton
Kessler
Utah gets a likely lottery pick this year, their own pick back so if they are competitive next year no worries. Topic is an interesting prospect, Dieng still worth a look, and Williams can probably be moved for a couple 2nds if they want.
OKC could use one more big and could use another source of offense. Already the best team in the conference, but let's fill in those last two potential gaps.

I probably would but I wonder if OKC values the continuity/chemistry that comes from Kenrich and doesn’t want to mess it up. They might (right or wrong) feel like this is unnecessary as well. Kessler would obviously get minutes right now, but in a month or so, he probably rides the bench for pretty much the rest of his time in OKC

I think I have to say yes.

I like all of these different ideas in concept. But I don’t think Kenrich is going to get moved. And without his salary it gets tougher.
I’m on my phone doing this back of envelope but would Dieng, Topic, Jones for Sexton work, then room exception for Walker?

Chucks thread. But Moneytalks spin.
Leave Kenny out of it. Think it leaves room for an incentives under the tax. If not, it’s probably close enough to tell Jaylin thanks for memories? And get a nice 800-900k rest of season contract type..
I don’t think they need to pay for Kessler, think a lesser cheaper option would be fine. And one that can shoot. But Presti can afford to do it. So I guess why not.

I would take out the Sixers pick and put a more low variance one in there and change the Utah pick to another one as well, but i like the targets for OKC.
Topic and 2 meh 1sts for Sexton+Kessler

Funny I was looking at Flip yesterday

if Philly misses the playoffs (which is looking pretty likely, but not yet a lock as they're not far from he play-in), therre is no doubt this is the best offer Utah will receive for those two. I think Ainge accepts this without hesitation

Man, that's a great haul in both directions - for their respective timelines. Almost too much talent on OKC. I've talked about adding those UTA guys to ORL for picks and people contend that Sexton won't settle for a lesser role (I disagree for ORL-but OKC is even deeper).
Topic has got to be tantalizing for a rebuilding team. He's one of the few "not win-now" guys that I'd chase for ORL right now.

I think Kessler would be a great hedge but contractually its pretty iffy that OKC could pay him in 1.5 seasons. Is 1.5 years of Kessler worth this value? I think a team pays him 20M+ on the market and OKC simply cant afford both him and Hart - and Hart is young enough that you likely bring him back on a 2nd contract IMO - he is much better than Walker, especially his passing on offense.

Probably an overpay, but the direction is right for both teams, I like it.

Topic doesn't have the value you think he has, Jazz could have taken him at 10 and passed. If those 2 firsts are mediocre, I think Jazz passes.

Yeah, that doesn't work for Utah if Kessler is going to be included.

As-is, I'd heavily consider pulling the trigger.

If Topic doesnt hold this value, he shouldnt be in the deal. OKC spent a top 10 pick on him knowing he'd be out for the year...they clearly valued him that high and if other teams dont (which is fair), he shouldnt be included in trades

In terms of balance, the best trades are the ones that you have to think about for a bit. I'd lean towards declining this for the Jazz, but it's really well constructed. Nicely done.

I like sexton but prefer someone else for a big who can slot in as a PF/C instead of a pure C.

man if Kessler is worth that much, the Jazz really shouldnt trade him
On OKC, he probably wouldnt play when theyre healthy. Crazy to trade this much for a guy who might not be part of your playoff rotation

I think Kessler might be TOO good here; I like the Sexton idea though.
Per a mutual friend of the board, OKC loves Kenrich too much in the locker room to really want to trade him.
