I REALLY want the Bulls to blow it up but it looks like they won't. Playin here we come
But, we need a stud-and NO needs to start over
CWhite/PWill/Giddy/Port pick/Bulls next 1st (top 8 protected) for Zion
Bulls go with
Ayo/Ball/Carter
Lavine/Ball/Duarte
Matas/Terry
Zion/Phillips/Craig
Vuc/Smith
NO gets 2 picks and young talent. They build around Murray, Murphy, Jones, Missi, White, Hawkins, Alvarado, PWill
Could also send CWhite to Det for something, and NO saves $

I have to believe that Karnasovas has been told he has reached the limit of FRP's that he can trade (that's 3 plus the PORT pick for 4) without a trip to the conference finals or a playoff series win. If he brings this to the ownership, he'd get fired

So not allowed to rebuild or trade firsts?
Sounds pretty miserable

Again why?
Zion makes sense only if the Pels are straight up looking to get out of the contract.
No trading firsts regardless of protections, this is just nonsensical for Chicago.

I was also guilty of dump Zion trades after yet another injury and drama dissapointment. But if you've watched these last few games he's played in, you realize he's too big of a talent to sell low on or trade away at all. From a marketing standpoint, but also percentage of eventual contendership potential. As slim a chance it is, they have to keep him and hope for improved maturity and commitment to conditioning, helped by mentorship from D. Murray.

Or, if you want to be pessimistic —
Zion knows he has to get his butt out there X number of games a year and look impressive to keep cashing those checks. Dude just doesn’t care enough to do more than that.

I hope it doesn’t happen, but Orlando should jump in on any Zion to Chicago trade to swap Cole for Coby.

Because ownership won’t let them rebuild & risk the UC not selling out. So they’re stuck fighting for the play-in without a big gamble like Zion working out for them…and the Pels are unlikely to be ready to just dump Zion for nothing.

They got the green light to rebuild last season but AKME chose not to.

Let's just say I'm skeptical about that.

CHI: Williamson + Houstan
ORL: White + Craig + Horton Tucker (could also go to NOLA)
NOLA: Giddey + Anthony + Duarte + DEN FRP + POR FRP + ORL SRP (1-3?) + protected CHI FRP?
CHI
Vucevic | Smith | Sanogo
Williamson | Phillips
Williams | Buzelis
Lavine | Terry | Houstan
Dosunmu | Ball | Carter
ORL
Bitadze | Carter
Banchero | Isaac
Franz | da Silva | Howard
KCP | Black | Harris
Suggs | White | Joseph
- Pels get quantity over quality, but do get enough futures to issue a confident press release without just saying that being rid of the headache is worth it on its own. I'm not high on any of those pieces coming back, but Giddey could be a solid fit with DJM/CJ and Trey/Herb/Ingram. And I suppose Cole could play well enough to make CJ expendable.
- Magic upgrade their 6th man to a kid who I would probably start over KCP once he gelled, if I were them...but who should really give them a spark off the bench if they don't want to mess with the starting 5 when everyone's back to 100%, or as close as they'll get until the offseason.
- Bulls roll the dice on Zion being a new man in Chicago, as a Zion / Zach / Vuc top 3 seems like they could be really complementary if they click...at least offensively...without paying such a steep price that they couldn't pivot if it didn't work; especially if that pick never becomes unprotected and the protections are out-tankable.
But they might just have the balance with Ayo / Lonzo / Carter at the POA, and Pat / Matas / Terry / Phillips on the wings, to put together some wins...and at the very least should be a fun team to watch for Chicagoans, even if their season ends in the play-in once again. Plus I kinda like Houstan as a bench shooter.
