DET - NO - OKC

DET
In: McCollum, one decent future 2nd from OKC
Out: Hardaway, Fontecchio

Why: They get better, in exchange for sacrificing much of next year's cap space. Worth it, for Pistons fans?

NO:
In: Hardaway, Fontecchio, Dieng
Out: McCollum, Alvarado

Why: They get under the tax this year, go for a better lottery pick, and save $20MM next year, plus get a last look at Dieng to see if he's worth anything; Alvarado seems a reasonable price to pay for all of that. Do Pelicans fans agree?

OKC:
In: Alvarado
Out: Dieng, decent future 2nd to Detroit

Why: With Mitchell out, they need a PG for the non-SGA minutes; Alvarado is cheap, shoots reasonably well, and fits perfectly on defense. And the price is low (too low? is OKC stealing value from somebody here?) But can he really run an offense, even for 12-14 minutes a game?

I don't know much about Alvarado but I'm fine with this from an OKC perspective assuming he's at least capable of running an offense. I don't have a good read on value for most of these guys. DET, NO folks, any thoughts?

I feel good about these targets and value, but that probably means I'm wrong.

One question here is about Fontecchio, he's done well for DET, but this could be a veteran move that honestly benefits the Pistons, they're in the PO chase now.

The CJ to DET idea makes so much sense, hope it happens. Don't see the OKC part, though. Alvarado is a fan favorite and pretty effective with advanced stats. They extended him and see him as a culture setter for next season.

Absolutely not from the Pelicans.

I feel like trading for CJ probably costs us Beasley in the offseason and I’m not sure that tradeoff makes sense

Way too good for the Pels. They cant possibly turn CJ into an expiring, a solid player on a reasonable deal,a nd an OKC prospect
