Why for pistons: Get a guy that is a little bit younger and is locked into a reasonable contract, even if slightly overpaid. Green provides aggressive try hard type defense and physical play that could help Det in the playoffs and also shoots the three at a decent clip.
Why for the Hornets: They are not heading to the playoffs this year so decide to salary dump Green for cap flexibility this offseason.

Interesting to see a swap of the 2 guys I most wanted to see gone from Dallas last year

Josh Green stinks. Tim Hardaway is a big part of Detroit having its best season in years. Not sure why they would do this.

The 6 seed is going to trade their starter for bad money. Hmmm.

I don't think we have enough reliable offense outside of Cade right now to make this trade

Charlotte would need to pay Detroit something it doesn't make sense for them to pay. I just can't see this swap being a fit.

Yeah I would take the savings since there's absolutely no point in having more than 1 of Green/Martin/Okogie/Jeffries, who are more or less all the same players with varying confidence in their ability to create offense lol
No need for THJ here, I'd maybe keep him short term so we have a little scoring, and then buy him out ahead of the deadline.
Probably might pay a future 2nd for the salary but not the very early ones this year. I think a team will bite on that that can give him a very defined 3&D role, but I don't expect it to be Detroit.

Josh Green fills zero needs for Detroit. Hard pass.

If I had the chance to sign THJ and Josh Green to the same contract, I'd sign Green. But they don't have the same contract. I don't want to pay Josh Green what he's making long-term. I'd rather keep THJ and just let him expire for $$$ savings or to re-sign for a more appropriate salary.
DET would need incentive to do this and CHA shouldn't bother paying it.

In your description of why, you don’t exactly hype up Green. Doesn’t make sense for Detroit to do. Don’t see why Charlotte removes him. It’s basically a decent wing contract for a young guy, while Charlotte rebuilds. It would cost Charlotte handing out picks to swap him for an expiring contract
