What would realistic offers be for Curry?
Curry is at the end of his career...let's assume he's willing to leave because he still wants to have a real chance to win again, and the Warriors understand that it's better to get paid something... What kind of offers do you realistically think we could see (something Curry likes and the Warriors consider acceptable)

Re: What would realistic offers be for Curry?
Can’t see it. This is like making a Dirk thread, but in a world where Monte actually had it all…
(GSW has the ability to add almost any player they want to pair with Curry unlike Dallas did)
So the only way I see it is if Curry asks to be traded because GSW refuses to add talent to go on another run or two.
But without spending much time on it, LAL figures out a way to match his contract so the opening bid is every piece of value LAL can offer?
Maybe Presti figures out how to match if LAL is not willing to pay enough..

Curry controls the trade, no offer is enough if he says no.

I don’t think there are “realistic” offers for Curry, you don’t trade a guy at the end of his career for value. It would be a courtesy and probably to his chosen destination for not much in return.

Realistic offers would be hard to generate due to his salary.
But for starters it would take 2 young up and coming players and 2 FRPs. Problem is young players normally don’t have the salary to make it happen.

Re: What would realistic offers be for Curry?
I suspect Curry would choose his destination in that event and GSW and the other team will work on fair compensation.
If that is the Lakers then you're looking at:
Rui, Reaves, Knecht, Vincent, Vando, JHS, 2xFRPs for Curry+TJD

Yes , choose where he want go and make a best offer thereafter.
This is not see what’s best offer out there and then you trade him. It’s he give you his list and you take the best offer amongst them.

I doubt Steph Curry ever does a Tony Parker with Charlotte season. He’s 36 with 4 rings and signed for two more seasons. He’s a career Warrior

Re: What would realistic offers be for Curry?
Realistic trades probably zero out there Curry means more to GSW than any other player in their history he's the reason they became a dynasty. IMHO he should have got ownership in the team.
Only thing I could see is if he says thanks for the memories I want to go to Charlotte and play 1 more year just to suit up for them and GSW gives him that.
As a Raptors fan honestly I would give up anything not named Barnes including this year's unprotected pick plus any others nedded but that's nowhere near enough

He’ll be 37.5 to start next season with 2 year, $122 million left on his deal. The Warriors will try to load up this off-season for one final run next season but reality is they should deal him this summer to maximize the haul.
Curry + Hield
For
Anthony + Caldwell Pope + Isaac + 2025 Denver 1st + 2028 Orlando 1st.

And to this point, if Curry and Golden State decide it's best for both to move on - and Steph makes the choice that he wants to try to get to a better position to win vs being one of the few to end his career with one franchise, which he has earned the right to make the choice - then Curry picks the team and GS takes the best package from said team.
It's a fragile dance when you talk about trading a player who has not only meant so much to a franchise, but also backed it up with 4 championships.

to echo, he's not getting traded unless he comes to the team and quietly says please send me to team X specifically. Then GSW and team X work out a deal that shows Curry the respect he is due in terms of a return and GSW starts working on one of the biggest tribute videos we've ever seen.

Re: What would realistic offers be for Curry?
Any trade would immediately look like an underpay (whether it actually is or not).
Orlando would have obvious interest, but this starts and ends with Steph. He will have to ask for a trade, he will have full autonomy over where he is traded to and the front office will grant his wishes with no hesitation (but this seems like a farfetched idea and him retiring early seems a lot more realistic).
He recently purchased a house in Orlando and spends his summers here, this really doesn’t mean nothing but it isn’t a bad place to retire. Orlando also has the assets that GSW would presumably be interested in.

Re: What would realistic offers be for Curry?
Charlotte's offer is probably not going to be the best that's offered since we're not really equipped to win immediately, but for the sake of the idea...
it's most likely going to be a lump-sum of draft picks. some combo of:
2025 CHA 1st (at least top 2 protected, sorry, we're not trading Flagg on top of everything else for a 37yo Steph)
2027 CHA 1st
2027 DAL 1st
2027 or 2028 MIA 1st
2029 CHA 1st
2031 CHA 1st
a whole host of 2nds
and Charlotte has a ton of filler contracts to match any contract in the NBA, including Steph's. I'd want to explore a Steph+Draymond package deal somehow, but it doesn't seem feasible to do a 10 player for 2 player trade midseason, which would be necessary unless Bridges is sent somewhere (which I doubt happens, and from my understanding that definitely won't be to GSW as long as Wiggins is there, due to his relation to Bridges' ex)
I have my doubts that Charlotte is able to capitalize on anything with the two timelines, but I'd be very interested to see the chaos of trading 9 players and a handful of picks for a Steph/LaMelo/Miller/Draymond/Mark + Bridges/Seth/Diabate top 8

This reminds me of when the Nets traded for Paul Pierce and KG

Yeah this is really all that needs to be said. GS doesn't even start to consider trading Curry until he asks to be traded. Then they work with him and the team or teams of his choice to facilitate a deal that everyone can live with. There's no "step right up and make your best offer" for Steph. He's at the Dirk/Duncan tier of players where even if it would be the right move on paper, he means too much to the org and fans to trade unless he wants it.

Re: What would realistic offers be for Curry?
If I was Curry I would want to go to the Spurs or Rockets. Maximize your last few years from a tax perspective and both those teams he would be a great fit on.
And if I was the Spurs or Rockets I would trade non key players and add more picks. Keep the core young players together.

Re: What would realistic offers be for Curry?
Rockets are the team that makes sense to me. Great coach, good young team around him, a chance to win a ring, FVV contract + young players available to trade. He'd have a very strong chance to win at least one more ring in the next 3 years.
