The Fox trade thread.

Post#1 » by HadAnEffectHere » Tue Jan 28, 2025 8:53 pm

Fox has told the Kings he is going to leave in 2026 to go to team X (yet to be revealed as of yet) so the Kings have put him on the market for a trade.

So... Who do we think team X is and how much are the Kings going to get for Fox?

Fox for Steph Castle, filler, and maybe 2 firsts is the most obvious trade that comes to mind.

Miami is the betting favorite. He and Bam are tight, apparently

I don’t think he told the Kings that he’s leaving yet.

Fox/Demar/Huerter for Jimmy/Herro.

Miami gets the best player they could possibly hope for in exchange for Jimmy at this point, Sacramento gets to save face and say they got a star in return for Fox and uses Herro to replace his lost scoring punch.

Seen a few people hint it is the Spurs, would make sense. They will have cap space and plenty of assets to trade for him.

quick idea if there's any heat here.... [intended]

MIA out
Rozier, Love, Drob

MIA in
Fox, Boucher

TOR out/in
Boucher and Temple out / Drob and Len in

SAC out / in
Fox and Len out / Rozier, Love, Temple in

of course SAC needs to receive some picks, and TOR a couple seconds for the Drob salary

Fox
Herro
JJJ/Jovic
Adebayo/Boucher
Ware
[Butler?]
Cheers

I was just thinking when the news broke, we're gonna need a containment thread!

Honestly, I think it would be good for Brooklyn to make a fairly strong opening offer, like Thomas, Sharpe, 2 of our lesser 2025 1sts and expirings for De'Aaron. That would be my limit though, I don't think it's worth it for the Nets to get into a bidding war at this point in our rebuild. Obviously as with any team vying for him, this would only happen if Fox shows interest in signing an extension here.

What exactly can Miami offer?

Btw, would Miami involve Jimmy in this Fox pursuit? If so, I could see SAC absorbing Beal, the 3 1sts from PHX and 1 from MIA for Fox. All 3 teams could benefit from that.

Well, if Miami takes the Beal package for Butler, they could flip Herro and 4 first round picks.

If I were the Kings, I'd take the FVV/Sheppard/Whitmore and all the picks and swaps. Issue with the Spurs stuff is that some of the picks are contingent of other things, and the young prospects they have (Johnson, Vassell) have all gotten paid, whereas with the Houston offer you can get out of Fred's deal this offseason, have two young prospects and get 3 picks and 2 swaps.

You have Miami making Herro available? I'd think the idea would be to add Fox to Herro/Bam post Jimmy.

That is too much for Fox.

We'd be replacing Herro with Beal, but if they're willing to take Beal instead obviously we'd rather keep Herro.
