TOR-NYK-IND-NOP (Zion+BI to TOR, Turner to NYK, Poeltl to IND, IQ+Mitch+Brown to NOP)

TOR trades: Immanuel Quickley, Jakob Poeltl, Bruce Brown, Karlo Matkovic, 2025 POR 2nd rounder, 2026 IND 1st rounder
TOR receives: Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, Jericho Sims

WHY FOR TOR? Masai has indicated that he wants to accelerate the Raptors winning. Bring in Zion to pair with his bff (RJ) and Scottie along with BI.

=================================

NYK trades: Mitchell Robinson, Precious Achiuwa, Jericho Sims, 2025 WAS conditional 1st rounder (two 2nds likely to convey)
NYK receives: Myles Turner, Karlo Matkovic

WHY FOR NYK? Knicks move on from injury prone Mitch and get a rim protector, stretch C in Turner.

=================================

IND trades: Myles Turner, Ben Sheppard
IND receives: Jakob Poeltl, Precious Achiuwa

WHY FOR IND? Turner always seems to be on the trade block and there's news that IND is willing to trade him for a starting caliber center, which Poeltl is.

=================================

NOP trades: Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, Karlo Matkovic
NOP receives: Mitchell Robinson, Immanuel Quickley, Ben Sheppard, WAS conditional 1st rounder (two 2nds likely to convey), 2025 POR 2nd rounder, 2026 IND 1st rounder

WHY FOR NOP? With his latest quote, Zion and Pelicans management do not seem to be seeing eye-to-eye and it may be an untenable situation that blows up like Jimmy Butler. They can try to build out their roster with Mitch and IQ starting at C and PG with Murray, Herb, Trey at the 2/3/4. Last year's first rounder in Sheppard, IND's 1st rounder next year, and likely three very high 2nd round picks.

Wow.
First, Knicks are getting way to much.
Second, would love to reunite Zion with RJ, but you can't have Zion and Barnes on the same team. Need spacing.
Pelicans obviously are robbed blind here.
Pacers - fairish value, but probably the actual cost (20M) for Poeltl is probably higher than their liking.

I think Indy says no first. While Pascal would welcome his best friend Jacob, from a spacing/scheme perspective subtracting that much shooting from the Pacers could be disastrous

I would not want it as a TOR fan. Not that I think they are on their way or anything rn, but I think a team built around an expensive trio of Zion-Scottie-BI wouldn't have enough money left over to patch all the obvious holes without going far into tax territory ownership doesn't seem willing to pay

So your “Why for Indy” is basically “news” … there is no why lol. It’s a clear downgrad, he doesn’t fit their style at all, and they for some reason are throwing in Shepperd on top of it.

No there’s not. There’s news that Indy doesn’t want to trade Turner, but in order to even consider trading him, they’d need to get a starting center back AND incentive. Here, you have Indy paying Sheppard to swap Myles for a poor fit at center, and one that specifically Siakam talked about wanting to move on (wanting a stretch center next to him rather than the more interior/lane bound center he was used to…he loved Jak personally, just wanted the stretch style of play).

Toronto and New York simply suck so much unwarranted value out of the deal that its very difficult for the other two teams here. I mean that is beyond brutal for the Pels. That is some ugly money they are taking back to get one 1st round pick while giving up Zion and BI. Just not even close. Needs a lot more value from those big East Coast cities to fix this.

Why are the Pelicans giving up their 2 best players for a massively negative return? Quickley has been in and out all year and is having arguably the worst season of career after signing a massive 5 year $32.5M per year deal this offseason. Raptors would have to add 2-3 high end 1sts just to get out of that contract at this deadline. Mitchell Robinson is always hurt and Pelicans have a similar style rookie big they’re trying to develop. Sheppard just isn’t good.

The Knicks give up no value and end up with Myles Turner. Poeltl is solid, but I don’t see the Pacers downgrading from Turner to Poeltl just to help the Raptors and Knicks out. Pelicans would be better far off voiding Zion’s contract this offseason (he has an injury clause) and letting Ingram walk than taking this deal. I don’t think Pelicans do this deal even if you replace Quickley with Scottie.

Value wise Toronto gets a great return if Ingram signs here and Zion is healthy. Problem with that is Zion just doesn't want to get into NBA shape. He cares more about Instagram thots and food. Also the fit with Barnes is bad. You don't have a NBA center on the roster and Barnes and Zion aren't that.

Karlo Matkovic some how gets traded twice from Toronto and New Orleans
