Rumor says NO inquired about Ingram for Butler. Article also said NO determined to get under tax issues ($1.4 mil).
Butler in NO makes no sense so probably three or more team deal.
One I like:
NO gets JVal, Kuzma, expiring Bagley and Brogdon.
- logic is JVal/Kuzma provides inside depth and others expiring contracts. Cut off last year of CJ contract.
Next year: Murray/Trey/Herb/Zion/Missi with second lineup Alvarado/Hawkins/Kuzma/JVal. Plus high rookie pick.
Phx gets Butler.
Miami gets Ingram, CJ, Theis.
- logic is makes team better and no long term salary. Miami might have to send out a pick for this. But, shipping DRob while adding CJ adds firepower.
Washington gets Beal, DRob, all phx picks.
-logic is picks.
Might need other picks sprinkled around.
Also, see a version where Milwaukee takes Butler.
Or, a crazy one with Butler to Philly and NO getting the all world all injured Zion/Embiid tandem.
Who else could work in a Ingram to Miami scenario?

The problem is, I don't see Washington or Beal agreeing to this trade.

After fans getting into arguments with his family in the stands, he might be willing to go back to Washington. Does he still own home there or live there in offseason?

Don’t think fans would argue with his family in Washington?

Re: Ingram to Miami
IMO trading CJ and Ingram for that package is ugly. Might as well let Ingram expire and try to trade CJ alone.

Paying Kuzma and Val 30 million for 2 years instead of CJ 30 for one year. I would want compensation for that swap.

It doesn't make alot of sense because the season is over for NO, and Jimmy could in theory walk for nothing. Even if he opts in, which is likely, I can't see him wanting to play there. He'd probably hate Zion.

Re: Ingram to Miami
If New Orleans is willing to pay Butler his extension than Butler would go.
And if there is a facilitator out there willing to pay Ingram his extension, they could help the Pelicans dip below the tax, and send draft capital to Miami.
I think McCollum makes more sense for the Heat because he can run point guard and as a vet he can play steady in a playoff series. His contract expires before the big free agent class Miami wants to play.
I think the Heat could be interested in Ingram for themselves or for another team that can facilitate.

I see no reason why the Pelicans would trade Ingram for that, no clue why we are then throwing in CJ and Theis.
