Lakers/Nets/NO

LAKERS
In: Claxton/H.Jones/Martín
Out:Reaves/Hachimura/Maxi/Knecht/FRP 31

begins to rebuild around Luka... he gets 2 very good adjustments to alleviate AD's defensive loss...

NETS
In:Maxi/Hachimura/Knecht /FRP 31
Out: Claxton/Martin

get a good value and sales time

NOP
In:Reaves
Out:Herb

gets the best player in the deal, and fills a positional need
to cover and then complement Murray

I think herb is the best player in this deal, then claxton then reaves. Nop would and should demand more

As a Pelicans fan, I wouldn’t make this move—if for no other reason than my pure despise for the Lakers.

Probably have to cut out NO

Rui/Kleber/1st for Claxton, before the Luka trade is made official of course

I don’t think the Lakers trade Reaves at the deadline, but I can see him being dangled over the summer. Not sure he’s the best long term backcourt fit with Luka and his contract adds value in the trade market beyond his on court production. Lakers are probably thinking they get 1-2 more LeBron years after this with Luka and then rebuild around 28 year old Luka with cap space.

I was thinking something very similar, i.e. the Nets should try to get the Lakers '31 FRP for Claxton somehow. Rui+Vincent/Kleber should work financially.

Yeah that’s pretty fair and I’m not a clax fan. Those lakers FRPs just lost a ton of value. Nets shave 2 years of Clax’s contract and can flip Rui and Vincent as expirings next year
