Interested to see Austin Reaves trades that bring Lakers a 3+D guard defender and/or a rim protector.

Reaves is 26, not old per say but older than you'd think and the jazz are not going to be good any time soon, I don't get it for them. He'll be expiring and may not be extendable already next season. Maybe a third team gives Utah draft equity instead

I could see Washington being interested in him to play PG

Maybe I'm crazy but I think Utah is ripping off the Lakers here, Reaves and Knecht are both very positive values for contract and age, Rui is a solid starting 3/4 in a league that needs as many as it can get AND a 1st for Kessler, ehhh count me out. Collins is wildly inconsistent as well.

Would a trade of Reaves for Ausar be on the table?

Ausar is the player Lakers would be looking for. A defender that can take over any assignment.

Honestly ... if you're looking for a guard defender, OKC might be your best bet if they decide to rejigger the team mid-season. I'm on record as saying Dort is the most likely to be traded; I still think that.

OKC out:
Dort
Compensation? 2nds? Maybe you expand it to get a look at Dieng? Money match isn't much issue.

3rd team:
eat min from LAL (to make Dort money work), OKC sends 2nd or cash

I think Reaves has higher value than Dort but I don't know how much, and I'm not sure what they're looking for most right now.

FTR, I think this is unlikely. But it's more plausible than it was pre-Doncic. LAL obviously wants to be competitive right now, but they're definitely looking at a post-Lebron future seriously.

Tend to agree here. Kessler is good but he does have limitations, and LAL can't blow their entire load immediately like this. Feels unbalanced.

OKC is a tough one, don't think Lakers want to see Reaves and Caruso against them in the WC playoffs.

But yeah Dort is the type they'd look for absolutely. Jaylin Williams too.
