Lesson learned. Luka should have been in the 10-15 range with only a year and a half left on the contract. He'd be a rental to most teams and teams wouldn't sacrifice their franchise guy for that. The Lakers must feel confident that he will re-sign because if he doesn't, it's not even a very good deal for them. For Luka to be 4th, he'd need 4-5 years left on the contract. And don't teams have restricted free agency rights to rookies? So rookies on short deals aren't as bad since the threat they leave is 0% - you just have to be comfortable maxing them. Maybe Luka should be #20-25 actually. To a team like the Indiana Pacers, they would not trade Hali for 1.5 years of Luka.

I think he should've still been 6th unless there's some open secret stuff character wise. The Lakers didn't shop him so I'm not sure the Davis deal was a reflection of his value.
