LeBron acting so cavalier

Post#1 » by MasterIchiro » Mon Feb 3, 2025 8:16 pm

Cavs
LeBron

Cavs insure a title run. LeBron wants 1 more. Maybe 2.

Lakers
Allen
Levert
Okoro

Lakers unload the 2nd half of their aging core, rebuild around Luka - Reaves - Allen.
It has been written...

Hard to disrespect LBJ… But Cleveland should not really be interested this time around in my honest opinion.

Hardest of passes. The Lakers have been better with LBJ off the court than with him on the court this season. I'm open to rational arguments that don't rely upon *cuz, Lebron, duh* as the primary argument as to why LBJ still has positive value on a $50M contract, but I haven't seen any.

What makes Allen a player to build around?

His ability to finish whatever Luka would throw his way

You don’t have to trade LeBron to find that. lol he not a foundational piece to be building around.

So empty in-and-out bags?

I mean Lakers need a center, but it doesn't really move the needle in a meaningful way towards winning.

I get that you may not want to trade LeBron for him, but saying Jarett Allen doesn't move the needle for a contender is just silly. He's currently starting and playing 30 minutes a night for the team with the best record in the league.

He was a 30 mpg starter on the bad Cavs team years too

The man is 40 years old. He'll be 41 next year. That's no team's foundation.

If there was a way to add him to the big 4? I think they should very much be interested in him. He gets a nominal start at SF, but really he's that 3rd big they want. Would be a terrific final piece. I know his plus minus on off stuff will get cited, but he's still a very good player and of course comes with a whole career worth of just playoff experience.

But yeah they shouldn't trade Allen for him.

Yeah. I should’ve added that but was lazy.

They just can’t actually match his salary. But if he was bought out (he won’t be) or if he was willing to sign for the taxMLE next year (he wouldn’t) you love the addition and it feels like a nice farewell story.

And…? He’s literally right now moving the needle for a contender. I don’t know what the argument is that despite that he’s somehow not a needle mover on a contender
