RJ Barrett trades

Raptors just got B.Ingram as a co-star with Barnes...I guess this trade makes Barrett very expendable, right?... RJ has been playing well by his standards and is young enough with room for improvement for any team to take a chance. So in this scenario, where would it fit and what type of trade makes sense..?

I think he would fit well with the Bulls? What would the trade be like? P.Williams/J.Smith+Blazers FRP?

Maybe Jazz...? something with J.Collins+

Toronto is developing him into an efficient player while he's playing out of position. He's going to benefit even more next to Ingram as a 2nd option. I doubt Toronto trades him anytime soon unless they can consolidate for a better player.

You certainly could play IQ/RJ/Ingram/Barnes/Poeltl and I'm sure that's the plan for the rest of the season. Having more of an off the ball shooter in place of RJ would look to be a better fit though.

I imagine Toronto will look to use the rest of the season to see how things work and then decide on what to do going forward.

Aside from the shooting, there are 3 players who need the ball in their hands???maybe RJ coming off the bench??I think Agbaji and especially Dicks would be more suitable to combine with Barnes/BI...no?

IQ/Dicks/BI/Barnes/Poelt
Shead/Barrett/Agbaji/Mogbo/Boucher

I don't think he has much value tbh. Probably a negative asset.

I was sadly hoping Dallas would get him for Gafford/Klay/something in the Ingram trade. Needs to be a third team, yeah..

but thought Toronto would want to leave the 2 open for Dick/Ochai/Walter. No idea.

The Bulls could offer up either Vucevic or Zach Collins with Carter. They're not thinking they made a mistake extending Williams, they'll have him come off the bench for now. They aren't going to move their young FA signee backup center, young guys are what you rebuild with. You want that PORT pick then TOR can put it on a shelf and watch it do nothing

What those deals do is cut off the last few years TOR would be paying Barrett. The Bulls plug Barrett into the SF now where Lavine was playing or next year when they move some guards shift him to the SG, so yeah they like him plenty

I'm not sure he has positive value on that contract. The raw numbers look nice but once you get under the hood he starts to look more and more like a good stats/bad team guy.

I do kinda like the idea of putting Gradey in the starting lineup and bringing RJ off the bench as a sixth man to destroy second unit defenses.

Barrett doesn't need the ball in his hands as much as you'd think. Really thriving as a slasher.

Until Dick learns how to play NBA defence, don't see him as the long-term starter unless the other four starters are all plus defenders.

Not trying to ruin the party, but isn't Barrett a bit overrated? Once you have Ingram he's pretty dispensable...

I'm expecting TOR to take a look at their new line up over the next 30 games

Depending on what the Raps need, a deal around Thompson plus for RJ? Pistons need scoring support for Cade.

Maybe overpaid but I don’t think you could even make the argument he’s overrated he gets more hate consistently than any man.

To Sac: RJ Barrett/ Johnny Juzang
To Toronto: John Collins and Devin Carter
To Utah: Trey Lyles and 2 first round picks from Sacramento

Kings get a much needed wing/ Toronto gets someone who can balance their roster after the trade for Ingram + a young guard
/ Utah gets some cap relief (Trey is expiring) and draft capital

Mavs need a secondary perimeter scorer to go with KY and AD. Picks and filler to Dinos for him?

Barrett for Carter Jr, Harris and Da Silva from Orlando

Orlando is the worst shooting team and adding Barrett will help them in this department
Toronto gets a backup big and guard, plus a young backup forward. Or swap them with late FRP or multiple SRPs.

Obviously it wont happen due to Barrett's Canadian tie and popularity. Quickly is the one who would be moved realistically.

Why would Toronto even accept this? Carter Jr becomes a expensive backup 5, Harris basically is a stop gap guard who gives you no long term value and Da Silvia is okay but I think RJ holds more value to us than this

John Collins now pushes one of Ingram, Scottie or Yak out of position. I don't think he opts into his player option and I don't see Toronto wanting to try to develop Carter when they have Quickley and Shead.

Why is it everyone is trying to give Toronto players at a position they don't need? Collins is meh and Vooch is one hell of a expensive backup 5 and Javon Carter is a career jag

His passing and defense have improved a lot. He's also a capable 3pt shooter. The Raptors have a strong starting 5. They won't be trading Barrett anytime soon.

I think the only way RJ gets traded, is if the Raptors need to cost control and need/want to stay under the tax.
