Cleveland: Lavert, Thompson, and 2031 unprotected 1st
Rockets: Whitemore and Adams
Cavs get a SF and C to help them with their push and get under the apron
Rockets get an unprotected first round pick they can use in a trade for maybe KD and get a versatile guard that can backup Van Fleet and Green.

I don't see Cleveland giving up an unprotected 1st for a SF and C to come off the bench.

Whitmore is a PF. If you play him out of position, he'll still be a PF.
As far as the trade, I'm just not a fan of trading that pick this far out. If this isn't the right move, you're out of moves - for 6 years.

I definitely don't think Whitmore is a 4.
He's decent, and you've got control of him for 2 more years and he might even get better.
I don't see how this really changes anything for the Cavs tho and not a fan of trading a 1st for him.

Whitmore is 6'7" with a 6'8.5" wingspan. He's within a half inch of Jaylon Tyson by each measurable. He was also 230 pounds at the time of the draft.
Whitmore's interesting but in the Cavs' offense I'm always wary of non-bigs who have more turnovers than assists. It was true in college for him, too, so it's not just a role thing.
I might pay the 2031 1st for him but the Cavs can fit him neatly into their MLE and empty roster spot. So my counter here is just the 2031 1st for Whitmore. Whitmore is young enough to still be on the team in 2031 if things go well. But Houston doesn't take that.
