Did the sixers need to do this to get under the tax? I thought they were already there after the KJ Martin deal.

Wizards doing so many smart things this TDL. They were swimming in seconds so getting a first in a potentially loaded draft for taking on Reggie, nice move

Okay, so it's a very low first rounder for four second rounders.

That's a rock solid consolidation of assets. The fact that the Sixers did this despite being under the tax already means they probably didn't see a large difference in value of the picks involved.

I didn't realize Jared Butler was still in the NBA let alone worth a first.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

This is a good deal for Philly but does remind me that I was completely wrong on Butler ending up a good rotation wing.

Washington consolidating makes sense. Even if it’s a loss in value overall.

I remember a couple of years ago Brad Stevens traded a late 1st for 4 future seconds and Jordan Walsh. Seems like the Sixers managed to do that in a single trade.

I like it for both. Sixers get more tradeable assets and the Wizards consolidate.

Meh. Not great GSW 2nds, and the only WSH 2nd is in 2030 and who knows by then.

Butler > Jackson, though.

I feel like WSH did a slightly better job here consolidating.

They only have a Brogdon move left to make and they get the deadline runner-up trophy

I wouldn't have this be the takeaway anymore than I would have the takeaway that Max Christie was worth Luka.

I’d have this showing he’s worth a 2nd? We’ve seen 1sts go for about 5 2nds and cash before, and this one has a first for 4 seconds, a little cash savings, and Butler? So, Butler equals about a 2nd?

Jared Butler has been nothing but good every time he steps on the court this year. Underated player.

Christie is shooting 100% from 3 as a Maverick... And averaging 17/10/3 per 36.

Unless they pull off a trade or Dray opts out and they land a solid FA, the '27 GS 2nd should be solid. Curry will be 38, while Jimmy and Dray (if around) will be 37 taking up at least $148M of space with a $170M cap.

Still a fan of this kid. I hope he has success in Philly.
