Murrary/DDR
Zach/Elis
Monk/Carter

If it’s DDR/Zach/Monk someone has to lead the second unit. DDR can have the ceremonial start but two minutes in…this rotation.

Piations get a first for a role player.


Part two…big changes

DDR/Val/27 Spurs/ 31 Minny unprotected for Zion.
Monk for McDaniel.

Kings go big with a lineup of Zach/Murray/McDaniels/Zion/Sabonis.

Pels get value equal to Fox. Minny gets a PG that’s not washed or a longways off rookie. Monk makes them better.

DET has 3 rotation-worthy bigs:
- Harris (expiring next year, pretty meh)
- Duren (21, room for growth but probably a backup)
- Stewart (23, solid backup on fair contract)

We need to add to the front court because it is the weakest part of our line-up next season and beyond

We're not interested in trading one of our young bigs for space and a future FRP. Value is irrelevant when the direction is the exact opposite of what DET should be doing

After seeing DeRozan 3 years in CHI, he wouldn't accept coming off the bench. You can make the case that his skill set makes for a formidable bench group but his ego is just too big to not start.

This seems to be the case considering it was reported that Mike Brown approached DeRozan about coming off the bench and from reading various reports, listening to DeRozan answer some questions about this topic in interviews, and just reading between the lines in general, he doesn’t seem okay with that.

I'd pass on the Monk/McDaniels part for Minnesota. From a roster construction standpoint it creates more problems than it solves. While getting an upgrade at starting PG would be good, we'd have a real hole at the wing as there isn't really anyone who can take on that wing spot from McDaniels. And while its certainly not a perfect solution they currently have DDV, Dillingham, Conley and NAW (though he might not be back next year) that can cover PG duties along with some spot Ant minutes.

Detroit shouldn’t trade Stewart at all, but definitely not for a first that’s very likely bottom 10 or worse. The Spurs are just starting to ramp up, I expect a solid playoff spot next year and even more the year after (this pick).
