I know this is unusual, but this is a "trades and transactions" forum, so I thought I would give a try.
https://www.si.com/fannation/nba/fastbreak/golden-state-warriors-reportedly-signing-former-nba-9th-overall-pick-kevin-knoxVia Slater: "The Warriors intend to sign Kevin Knox into one of their vacant roster spots out of the All-Star break, per sources. Ten-day contract. Knox is averaging 19.1 points, 7.3 rebounds in Santa Cruz. Organization has been high on him back to summer league. An extra big scoring wing."
As a Knicks fan, I have been a Knox fan for a while, and honestly, I thought he was going to land on GS successfully during that big trade with Wiseman and the Blazers. Hope he makes an impact and I look forward to see him playing a stretch 4/5.

Feel like Knox has played for the Warriors three straight seasons on and off.

Knox had crazy upside, but just couldn’t execute it. It’ll be interesting to see if it ever clicks for him.
Since we’re on random player time, I’m curious to see if Bones Hyland lands somewhere

Uhhh, we had him for a while. He can shoot. Otherwise, he’s a bonehead — can’t defend, pass, or rebound.

Wish Knicks didn't have so many similar players on the roster or I'd love to see what Thibs would do with him. Lots of IQ comps on draft day.

It was a hard team to be on since at that time it was mostly offense oriented bust prospects (Bagley notably)

You aren’t wrong about that, but Knox still fit right in with the rest of the failed projects (and not in a good way).

Knox couldn’t handle playing for the Knicks under Tom.
He’ll be lucky to manage an 11th man type role. He can be solid offensively, but the rest of his game makes him easily expendable

Opportunity Knox only once ten times

Sounds like the opposite of a Kerr player lol. I know the FO was high on him over the summer so he'll probably have a chance to convert his 10-day into a rest of the season deal if he plays ok.

I always hated the pick as a Knicks fan. I wanted Michael Porter Jr, but maybe it was a blessing in disguise because I loathe to think we'd have MPJ on his current contract right now. However, Mikal Bridges was still available and if he was picked, then we might have saved on 5 draft picks? Too much has happened to predict what would have happened since that draft.
Going back to Kevin Knox, he was just a low-efficiency volume scorer during his rookie year. It seems as though he got better at the offensive efficiency (46% FG and 90% FT last year), but he is still a below average defender (def rtg is about 3-5 pts lower than league average over past 3 seasons). Additionally, he averages 1.5 ast per 36 mins, which is lower than someone like Cam Reddish! Players like Kevin Knox are a dime a dozen. He's still can turn it around, but he's at an age (mid-20s) where players need to figure it out or the opportunities will go to younger players. 24-26 is when players like Randle, Siakam, Markkenan, Oladipo, Jimmy Butler, etc won Most Improved Players of the Year. I just don't think Knox has that mindset to make that jump though.

I really preferred Miles Bridges and MPJ. Hindsight is 20/20. I genuinely think Warriors, where he will be sandwiched between defensive types, he will be at his best. They need shooting/scoring and if you give him a shot, he can Knox it down.

He was decent for us. I honestly would take him over this year's version of Fontecchio.

Yeah, absolutely. I was kind of hoping they would have been able to trade away for a better fit. He was solid during his audition last season, but he really had no one to compete with. His contract isn’t awful, but he got passed by in the depth chart.
He’s basically lucky he’s a tweener forward and Paul Reed is a 4/5 or Paul might’ve passed him as well
