MAVS
In:Reaves/Knecht/J.Smith/Milton/Swap FRP 30(by Lakers) Lakers31
Out:Klay/Lively/Hardy/O-Max/SRP

AD/Gafford/Powell
PJ/J.Smith/K.Edwards
Marshall/Martín(Draft)
Christie/Knecht/Milton
KI/Reaves/FA(SD or Exum)

The Mavs get a better fit with more assets.. Losing Lively hurts, but availability has been a big concern (some pessimistic reports say he could be out for the rest of the season).. they get a big who can stretch the floor, a young shooter on a rookie contract to replace Klay and a very good playmaker on a very good contract ...while getting off Klay's long-term contract and getting more assets, which sets them up to consolidate at the deadline, if they deem it necessary..

LAKERS
In: Lively/Klay
Out:Reaves/Knecht/Swap 2030/FRP 31/SRP25

LAKERS get the ideal center to satisfy Luka.. overpaid? maybe, but in my opinion it is worth it... For the Thompson family this should be ideal..Klay wanted to play with Luka and his father to play for the Lakers

BULLS
In:Hardy/O-Max/Lakers SRP/Mavs SRP
Out:J.Smith

At the beginning of their reconstruction, they get a very good value (in my opinion)

Reaves shouldn't be in it, but the Mark Williams package makes sense for LAL to pay for Lively (didn't make sense to pay for Mark Williams IMO), Dallas shouldn't do it, but it's good value.

Without reaves i agree. Cant see the difference between reaves and lively be klays contract 2 1sts and knecht. If its PJ instead of klay, sure

Lively isn't very reliable health wise either. I have this as a big overpay by the Lakers

Yes, I understand that it is an overpayment for DLively..but it seems that the Lakers were willing to pull the trigger on a good young center and I think that would be necessary to get DL out of the Mavs.

Maybe you can make the case that Hardy has value, but not to a team with at least 8 guards under contract for next year. The Bulls have every intention to move Nikola Vucevic as part of the rebuilding/reshuffling, so they don't want to give up a young athletic still improving Jalen Smith before they know what they're going to end up with as a starting center. No they don't need to take a year looking at 10 MPG Prosper. 2nd round picks 5 and 6 years down the road are nothing to count on.

No way

Knecht, Reddish, LAL31FRP and LAL28swap was the payment for Williams.

That was paid with the expectation that Mark was healthy now and didn't have major negative health predictors obviously.

Lakers paid knowing they could check on the health of Mark. Like Davis is injury prone but it's not often that he gets the same injury in separate seasons, it's more his play style lends itself to a lot of injury.

I think Lively is worth more than Mark Williams but not very much more.
