Devin Vassell

Post#1 » by Astaluego » Tue Feb 25, 2025 5:07 pm

He'll be 25 this August,...with the emergence of Castle and the trade of Fox (and too small to play the 3), Vassell is doomed to a secondary role.. What kind of offers (players/assets) could the SPURS receive.. He has 4 years left after this one at an average of +- 26 million/year

I wouldn't trade either player for Vassell. I could see an argument for Jones, but there isn't one for Murphy.

He's fine salary matching when SA goes for a real star to pair with Wemby. I'll assume they hold him until then. Like if Pop comes back next year, I think they are a sneaky KD team.

Yeah, Murphy is a lot more valuable than Vassell. It's not even close (and I don't use that wording as excessively as some others do).

I was in on Vassell but have been disappointed with this year. He's taken a clear step back at a point in his career trajectory where it might be a signal that he's an average player. An MLE player.

I think he's neutral value on his deal where it's more likely he never becomes as good as the deal he's on but with a small chance he becomes worth more than this deal.

Why not Devin for Randle (opt in and extend)?

Minny would have to be comfortable with McD at PF but I like this path for Spurs.
