CHI-NO

CHI gives: Coby White, Vucevic
gets :2026 lotto protected pic and CJ McCollum
NO gives :2026 lotto protected pic and CJ McCollum
gets: Coby White and Vucevic

As a Pels fan, we are at a weird point in that we have win now vet pieces but are limited by injuries at Point and a hole at Center. There is a potential scenario where we blow the whole thing up but if we dont, Zion, Herb and Trey are a decent core of a starting 5 provided you can find a point guard and center. Missi is an intriguing young big but hes not ready to start on a winning team. Jose is a great backup point but hes not a starter and any rookie, even a good one will not be ready to start on a good team. Also Murray isn't going to be ready to come back next year if he is ever ready.

So we need stop gaps, enter Coby White and Vucevic. They can come in and play veteran ball but also provide additional flexibility to make additional moves if it goes well without hamstringing a rebuil if it goes poorly.

For Chicago, both have played pretty well this year but the point guard spot is crowded in CHicago with Giddey and Lonzo both being on longer deal and Vuc is 34 on an expiring contract. This deal gives the Bulls a chance to get value for expiring contracts.

I get the idea, but I think I'd just roll with CJ and use an exception to get a center to pair with Missi and keep the asset.

The Bulls had a devil of time trading Lavine and you want them to jump right back into the same situation with CJ. The Bulls sill have and 8 guard glut they don't want to swap a younger cheaper one for an older more expensive one, plus they come up short at the center spot. The White and Vucevic expiring contracts are what as a rebuilding team they need not what they wan to get rid of for a longer larger contract in CJ. They're also sitting watching a lottery protected pick from PORT that may never show up, who needs another one to dream of.

I don't see the point for the Pelicans, adding vuc and white will just make them a mediocre team from a bad team. Might as well keep the assets and brace for another rough season in a good draft

Are you not grasping the idea is to get the pick?

Using the Portland pick which has unique and stupid protections that you won't see often is disingenuous.

It's an easy yes from Chicago.
