I feel like the Cavs are likely still an additional big man away from winning a championship. Signing and trading for someone like Naz Reid would make a tremendous amount of sense but the team has a lot of guys who can play point guard (Mitchell, Jerome, Tyson, Porter) so wouldn’t mind moving Garland if that trade doesn’t work out to give the Cavs more size.

Sabonis for Garland

This gives Sacramento a younger point guard to play in the back court and someone the team can build around and the Cavs a big man for the rotation they need especially for depth purposes.

Nope. The Cavs need Garland, particularly if Jerome plays his way beyond what the Cavs can pay him.

The Cavs are looking at veteran ring chasers on the minimum.

That trade requires additional follow up trade of Allen going somewhere. Allen, Sabonis and Mobley do not make a good front line.

The Cavs want to invest all their money into Sabonis, Allen, Mobley? I don't really understand it.

And what are the Kings without Sabonis adding Garland, who plays in the front court? Keegan/Jval?

This seems wrong for both. kings either need to add to Sabonis, or tear it down. Cavs shouldn't be adding another big man lol

I don’t think this base makes sense for Cleveland really.

But if you wanted to do it, I think it needs to include a Monk/Allen swap. No idea what is owed once that is added..

Doesn’t seem like a good idea for either team honestly. But Sabonis/Mobley/Hunter/Monk/Spida does feel like a really good fitting group as an outsider.

(The current Cavs group fits really well as well is the problem)

One of the things that RealGM has convinced me of is that there are a lot of fans who fall for a type or particular aesthetic and they place more value on that than actual success. This has no chance whatsoever from the Cavs end.

They wouldn’t all start. Allen would come off the bench and Hunter would start. The goal would be to get another good big man.

Garland and Travers for Murray, Derozan, and Larevia with a pick or something they got for Fox might make sense too.

This trade is far too extreme. You don't typically want to open a larger hole than you're filling. Cleveland would be better off going after someone like Naz Reid as a bench big, it's certainly not going to cost you Garland.

Forget Naz Reid. The Cavs don't need a starter-level player. They need a bench big and they shouldn't pay more than the minimum for one.

Definitely put in calls to Brook Lopez and Clint Capela if they feel like winding down their PT late in their careers although we're probably looking at Boucher, Nance, Yabusele, Plumlee, Lyles.

Cavs could make a very simple call to the Australian league and pick up Montrezl Harrell. He will come in and bang around for 10-15 minutes a game, not need the ball, and just disrupt the game. Can be had for cheap.

Garland is untouchable.

Trade doesn't really make sense either way. Cavaliers don't really need a Sabonis and we wouldn't have a center to start unless we start JV in 2025-2026.

I'd 100% roll the dice on a Zion for a 1st trade.

Cavs could definitely use a backup big man to help their commitment to panting Mobley/Allen together rather than staggering their minutes as much.

Trading their all star PG for another all star C is not the answer though lol

Only thing I disagree with here is Cavs shouldn’t be adding another big man. They definitely need one, especially if Mobley or Allen go down.

There's a small minority of fans who never got over the Cavs picking Garland over Sexton (despite the mountain of evidence demonstrating it was the correct call). There's no accounting for taste.
