Lauri to Heat

The Heat are not a "rebuild" type of franchise, and have good pieces now.

Utah needs their stud-might be this year but they still owe 1-8 to OKC next year

This assumes Miami makes the playoffs, and gives their pick to OKC

Lauri for Rozier, JJJ, Jovic, Miami's 2029 or 30 unprotected, and a swap in 2031, unprotected

Miami would have a set 4 of Herro/Wiggins/Lauri/Bam-that's a lot of talent, plus Ware, Robinson, Highsmith, Anderson-would need a PG badly

Utah keeps the rebuild going one more year. They'd have a core of
Henricks, Williams, JJJ, Jovic, Kessler, George, Collier (and more young talent)-plus a top 5 pick this year and a few vets to play with

They'd have a top 5 pick next year, unlimited 2026 cap space and many future picks.

Davion Mitchell is our point guard but as much as I love Lauri I'm not sure he's where we spend our assets. I don't see moving Ware or Wiggins to the bench as worthwhile and this move would necessitate that. I think we would need a follow up trade, moving Wiggins as I don't see us going small again.

Not sure on the final team, but how about Mitchell/Herro/Wiggins/Lauri/Bam
That's a REALLY nice balance of offense and defense (Lauri being solid on D, Bam/Wiggins/Mitchell all ++ defenders)
I know they could wait, but that team, if healthy and Wiggins being productive, could be a threat in the East

Again, I don't see us moving Ware to the bench

I think "to the bench" is overstating it. Lauri can play some 3, and there are plenty of minutes to go around. This trade eats some of their depth
You could easily start Herro/Wiggins/Lauri/Bam/Ware with a huge, athletic team

Not trading Lauri for picks 4 years out. JJJ and Jovic are good prospects, but neither is compelling enough to trade Lauri for. Value of the package is probably fine, it's just that there is no clear centerpiece and the best assets are far in the future.

I think Miami should invest its assets in a good-level complement to accompany Herro in the backcourt. On the wings and in the center I think they are very well covered. I wonder if the Clippers would be open to trading Harden or Powell and what would be the price? Also, would it keep them as players in free agency in 2026?

So we go from "Miami would need a point guard badly" to "you could easily start Herro/ Wiggins/Lauri/Bam/Ware"?

Could you maybe come up with a consistent argument or two?

I think if Miami is going to invest in a backcourt partner for Herro, that guy is going to need to fit the team's timeline better than that.

This package seems rather light, Heat picks never amount to much, Jovic could be a potential future piece for the Jazz, Jaquez is already 24 and looks more like a future backup. Rozier is filler at best. I think Heat should add some more here.

No thank you. Rather have Jovic at his age and potential development under our training staff and his possible future contract over Lauri. And to be honest, if the **** everytime is "You guys are never bad enough so you have to pay double in picks", I'd rather the heat not get involved in trades with those teams. Heat pick usually between 14-20 year after year. With those picks the Heat have gotten Bam, Herro, Jovic, and Ware. Cry me a river, pick better, get a better scouting staff. Don't tell me our picks are trash when our guys would get drafted way higher if teams had the benefit of hindsight.
