Swapping ou bad contracts - PHO/POR

Obviously this only happens if Beal aproves (POR promises the starting spot and primary ball handler role):
PHX in: Grant, Williams III
PHX out: Beal, #30, '29 worst of UTA/CLE/MIN
Why? Get out of the Beal trouble and get two rotation pieces at positions of need.
Jones/Booker/Durant/Grant/Williams III
Morris/Allen/O'Neale/Bol Bol/Richards
POR in: Beal, #30, '29 worst of UTA/CLE/MIN
POR out: Grant, Williams III
Why? Get a disgruntled star to help develop their pieces (only 2 years) and add two late picks to their chest (probably has to sell Simons). Don't lose much on-court since they have younger guys that are outplaying Grant/Williams.
Beal/Sharpe/Avdija/Camara/Ayton
Henderson/Simons/#11/#30/Clingan

Can’t trade 2027 due to choosing to trade the 2026 to Charlotte.
Legal with the 2028 or 2029 firsts which are equally as terrible?
I don’t think you can keep KD after shopping him like they did. And cant see Beal agreeing to go to Portland for 2 years.

Hell no for POR.
That’s the worst contract in the league.

I would do this if Blazers could send out a bit more salary (Thybulle?). Then I would play Beal minimally or try to discuss a buyout. It then becomes a roster downgrade, but shave a year of Grant for a couple late 1sts. But I can’t imagine Beal waiving his no trade clause for this.

I'm sure the Blazers would love to cut a year from Grant's contact, but this is pretty extreme. Beal's contact kills any payroll flexibility the team might have over the next two summers. The picks are OK but not too enticing. Never thought I'd refuse an offer with picks for Jerami, but I don't think Portland does it. Beal probably says no, regardless.

True, and the blazers are getting rid of it while receiving two picks in the process!

Rubbish.
Beal is the worst contract in the league.
Grant is also terrible but no NTC.

They're owed the same amount of total money but Beal has been a markedly better player than Grant this year, and his contract expires a year earlier. It really depends on if you'd rather pay the 110 mil +/- over three years or two, there's an argument to be made for either.
I can see why Blazer fans wouldn't want to do this trade, but mostly because they probably don't want to kill the momentum they have going on now.

The NTC is the difference maker.

Grant's contract is pretty much immovable anyway, my thinking is that the blazers are better off just letting either contract ride out rather than attaching assets to trade either guy in the future. But even if you argue that the NTC is the difference maker in their contracts, OP is offering two first round picks to compensate for that.

Convincing Portland isnt even the biggest hurdle for this deal.
Beal is not waiving his NTC to go to a high tax, bad weather, small market bottom feeder. I would be absolutely shocked if he did.
