Not sure how Zach, who was just traded for positive value and a very efficient volume scorer with solid playmaking (and was just player of the week on insane 3pt shooting lately) is on here but Lauri isn’t. I’ve seen him nominated a lot and he has been bad on a lengthy deal

I don’t know that he was traded for positive value? Zach was traded with a future 2nd for Collins, Tre Jones, Huerter, and the return of their own well protected future first. Seems pretty lateral at best?

Even then, feel free to nominate Lauri. Zach has only been nominated, and hasn’t gathered a vote yet, so no big whoop, I guess?

I think the protected pick was lottery like

They were teetering on 11 at the time with their top ten protected… I’m sure it weighed on their minds along with the huge trade exception

They were also trading their best player in that trade, so I don’t know that they really had expectations of climbing the standings?

If we have to choose from the list above I guess I would choose Zion, although I'm hopeful he can prove me wrong. He's just had some availability and conditioning issues that worry me. If we can vote for a player that is not on the list, I would vote for Markkanen(good player, but just overpaid, and at 27, is less likely to experience a huge boost in output going forward). If I cannot vote for Markkanen, then I will nominate him for next time.

I think teams would be willing to overlook a down year, he probably would be worth like 3-4 1st round picks on that contract if he was putting up the same stats as last season. Also the stretch PF prototype is compelling.
