recognized by the board as the worst contract in the league (nothing to discuss)... his situation with the Suns is unsustainable and in my opinion he has to leave,... both for his own good and for the Suns'... especially not to continue tarnishing his career by entrenching himself in Phoenix... What would be some probable destinations and how do you think the trade would go... some ideas...
B.Beal+ FRP 27 for D.Murray/K.Olynyc
B.Beal+ FRP 27 for WCJ/KCP/Cole
B.Beal/Dunn+FRP25 and 27 for Irving/C Martín
B.Beal/Richards+FRP27 for D.Lillard
B.Beal+Picks/Prospects obtained from trading KD+Dunn+FRP25 and 27 for Markkanen
B.Beal/Dunn/FRP25 and 27 for P.Williams/Vucevic/Lonzo
Picks/Prospects Received from KD Trade/Dunn/FRP25 and 27 for T.Young..
B.Beal/Dunn+FRP25 and 27 for Middleton/Holmes/Bey
just some random ideas thrown around...what do you think would be the best solution..?

Beal has an NTC and doesn't really want to be traded anywhere.
The unrelenting word continues to be that Beal has no desire to bless a trade pretty much anywhere and prefers to remain in Phoenix, where his family has been settling after finally leaving the nation's capital.
https://www.si.com/nba/suns/news/bradley-beal-reportedly-doesnt-want-to-leave-phoenix-sunsFrom my understanding, a potential deal was in place with Chicago, but Beal shot it down. It would take a very competitive team willing to pay something of value (even if just a shorter bad contract) for Beal yet still retaining enough after this to continue winning with him--oh, and in a "family-friendly" city with nice weather (all apparent priorities of Beal)--to "pry" him loose from the Suns.

Due to Phoenix trading the 2026 first, they can only trade the 2028 or 2029 first (not both) and the 2025 first (at time/after the draft)..
Most of these ideas still work.
If Dallas isn’t rebuilding and Phoenix isn’t trading KD, I think you should look at roleplayers for Beal and a first.
I think it works better with a third team because I think “Klay/Gafford/Martin” is already worth more than Beal and any first Phoenix can trade... So Dallas should get to find the third team to give up value for PJ.. or maybe Dallas just settles for the 2025 Cleveland first and the 2029 and Phoenix gets PJ? No idea.
But I would like that better than trading Kyrie for Beal even with Kai hurt.

Hawks have an owner unwilling to pay the tax. They won't be saddled by the worse contract in the league. Hawks pass.

Why would Atlanta be paying the tax? They’re just downgrading Trae to Beal for a bunch of assets.
There’s plenty of reasons not to like rebuilding/downgrading when you don’t own your picks. But tax isn’t an issue as far as I can tell?

The Bucks are easily declining this. Nick Richards and a not very good 2027 1st round pick is not enough to bridge the gap of value between Beal and Lillard, even tho Lillard himself isn't as value as he used to be. Far as the others, maybe there's deal to be had, but I don't see Beal agreeing to be traded to most of those teams, so the conversation would be DOA.

Yeah I agree, I don't see a deal happening. I think people are looking at this backwards though - you need to start with a list of teams that Beal would plausibly accept a trade to, and then see if any of those teams have the right pieces/needs to make a deal for him. Deals where he ends up on a rebuilding team like Chicago or Utah are non-starters.

Its already been mentioned but Beal holds all the cards here. If he doesn't want to leave he isn't leaving.
If I remember from what was coming out around the deadline was that even if you could find a team he was OK to go to, teams theoretically taking on Beal didn't want him to maintain the NTC (because it would limit their ability to move him again if it doesnt work/as an expiring/etc) and he and his agent have shown no interest in giving up that NTC as part of any deal. And that a few insiders even commented that teams werent even convinced the Suns had the value available to get off of Beal's deal - though I think that part was before they did the 1 for 3 draft pick swap.
So you'd need to find a team Beal is OK to go to, a team open to allowing Beal to maintain his NTC and that also can work with Phoenix on value to make it work for both sides. I'm not sure there's anyone fitting in the middle of that venn diagram.

I think they could consider a stretch and waive if they don't trade Durant

That seems like an insane idea to me. You're gonna pay him $22 million a year through the 2029-30 season to play for someone else?

Yeah.
Saves Suns $30m each of the next 2 seasons.
This is the only way they can put together a team around Durant and Booker.
I don't think it's considered though because they will trade Durant and drop under 2nd apron

Honestly so cool that he can just say "nah I'm good" on any trade. Good for him/his agent getting that in there

That would be ugly! 5 yrs? He's due $110.8 million over 2 years. I don't see him taking $1 less in a buyout. $22 million a year dead cap money!!
IF they Suns can trade KD and get some assets they could just ride Beal out by offseason 2027, they might be able to find some youth to go with Booker, but this team has really jacked up their future draft picks.
Maybe they could find Beal a new address in the final year and eat some contracts to get some picks, but you still have to get him to waive the NTC!!

My philosophy has always been that a "stretch waive" just makes the pain last longer, sure you save money now but there's $66 million over 3 years that reduces your cap and you can't get rid of it.
I'd rather ride him out bench him if I have to for all of the 2025-26 season then if he can't be moved just buy him out even at 100% and eat that one big dead money year.

Well 2 mistakes were made, 1 by the Wizards when they gave him that deal and the 2nd one was when the Suns traded for him. Who ever is in charge of that team should be gone!

PHX isn’t doing that so he can sign for vet minimum in LA.

I mean with how punitive being over the 2nd apron is now, it's worth it. Before it wasn't worth it.
But now that deal gets the Suns $30m more under their current spot, they can add contracts together and they don't have to have their FRP shuffled to the back of the deck in 2032.

I think they could negotiate an MLE off the full buyout Beal if he gets an MLE to play elsewhere.
Instead of $55m per season, it will be $40m per season. So $16m per season dead over 5 seasons.

Basketball fit or winning isn’t his main priority. He’s got his reasons for not wanting to move his family. The Wizards were dumb enough to give him a NTC and the Suns were dumb enough to take it on. It is what it is.

Is Brooklyn a good fit for one of the spots Beal is willing to play in? If his interests lie more off the court than on, could he make sense? Suns send Beal/Dunn + picks/prospects from KD trade for Claxton/Cam?
